CU Buffs (WBB) versus Illinois

Interesting game last night - on every CU possession they seemed to either score or turn the ball over. In fact, the committed 21 turnovers in the game with many of them be seeming to be unforced errors. This may sound like a criticism, but it show how good the Buffs are, they can play poorly in one aspect and still dominate the game. Sp how did they win with all those turnover? The pummeled Illinois on the boards, 31-20. On the other end, the shot almost 49% from the floor and assisted on over half the made baskets, for a total of 22. Brittany Wilson had 8 of them. Speaking of Brittany, she had 13 rebounds, those 8 assists and 7 points and 3 blocks.

Both Jen Reese and Arielle Roberson were very efficient with their scoring, going a combined 14-21 from the field. Reese has a very fluid release on her jumper and if she gets and inch she can get it off. She was 2-2 from three point range.

CU still hasn't played its best game and they have one more warm up (DU) prior to the showdown at Louisville.

Louisville has lost a starter for the season. Starting guard Antonita Slaughter collapsed on the bench in a game earlier this week and was taken off the court on a stretcher and then to hospital by ambulance. Sadly, it was determined Slaughter had a cardiac event. Doctors discovered a blood clot on her lung and she is lost for the season.

No idea of how this will affect Louisville.

Granted, it was Wright State, but I think they'll be OK ...

Coach said he told them to play for Slaughter at the game where she fell ill. I'm do not know how deep their bench is, but they do have to adjust to new rotations, etc. and know Slaughter is not available. Somebody is getting her minutes who wouldn't have had them.
