Bernardi, jeffcoat and Lindgren. Fisch and helfrich should be available and mac needs to move quickly. Brady hoke is available and would be a home run and we need a Poly coach at TE.

WHy do people want els gone? Obviously if DJ can move on so we don’t have to pay the buyout that is fine but that seems unlikely.

Eliot is a hard one, he inherited a bad situation, but I know he was a UK castoff.
They need to dump Bernardi, Lindgren, and Jeffcoat. I agree with getting a Poly coach to build a pipeline. Chiv at least can recruit skill players. Adams didn’t get the line to play to their potential but neither did anyone else except maybe Els.

Outside of MacIntyre, Chev is the only name on that list that is safe IMO....and he's only safe because he'd be too big a loss in recruiting.

Why would Els and Brown not be safe?

I was thinking of it in terms of guys who we can't afford to lose, versus guys who have earned the right to keep coaching here. I'd have no problem keeping both of them, but if we could upgrade with a guy like Charlton Warren at secondary (especially from a recruiting perspective), would you do it? I would.

What's his buyout........1.5m? If we're so cheap we can't pay that we've got other problems.

The OL was the biggest disappointment on the team this year yet very little noise about replacing Adams with a real OL coach. During fall camp CU coaches and the athletic department were touting the OL, saying that they are comparable with the great OLs from the early 1990’s. Touting the depth as being great. The OL was average, a 5-7 quality OL.

Why is Adams getting a free pass? The OL was overpowered all season, why is the strength coach getting a free pass?

Adams recruited a 4* player that Stanford dropped two years ago and for some reason he is now a good recruiter. Adams might be a good recruiter relative to other coaches on the CU staff but he is not a good recruiter relative to the coaches on the staffs of the teams that CU plays.

To much groupthink going on. The lazy answer is Bernardi, Jeffcoat, and Lindgren then call it a day. A hard look at the staff shows that the lack of quality on the staff is much deeper than those three.

I am open to any changes, but this is a triage situation at the moment. The "lazy answer" is at least one year overdue (at least in regards to Bernardi and Jeffcoat), so obviously we have plenty of issues on this coaching staff. If the three obvious changes are made along with the 10th assistant added, we are talking four new coaches out of ten. That could be enough.

There's enough low hanging fruit that Adams is safe for now. Bernard, Lindgren, Jeffcoat and Eliot are pretty clearly weak links. Start there and give Adams one more year. If the OL doesn't perform next year, he's replaced.

It's just like with giving credit where it's due on teams. Everything starts with the lines. But no one ever discusses it. Unsung heroes and all that jazz. But the real bottom line is that every single member of the coaching and support staff from MM down to the kid that fetches the tee after kickoffs should not feel good about their performance this year. Everyone should be looking in a mirror and asking how they get better.

I am not giving a pass to Adams. However, this is like double rotator cuff surgery. You may need both shoulders done, but if you choose to do both, then you can’t wipe your own butt.

Come on. EVERYONE has discussed issues on the lines all season.

Now there is a mental image...

I just think that burning through coaches who have one year here and did a good job is a little to far.
