CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

Felt this was relevant to future speculation on realignment.

1. Assume the ACC basically has to dissolve once Clemson, FSU, UNC and one or two other programs get snatched up by the B1G/SEC

2. Big 12 goes after 5-6 of the ACC leftovers (Miami, GT, Louisville, NC State, VT, etc)

3. Probably a decent possibility UCLA decides the B1G isn’t worth roughly the same as they could have had by staying more regional, especially when they are likely a perennial bottom 1/4 program in the B1G.

4. They get Stanford and Cal to join them in going into the Big 12, a conference that could be upwards of 24-28 schools that has western and eastern divisions.

As a side note, I could easily see UCF surpassing FSU as the #2 state school in Florida. Both have upward trajectories, but UCF business, medical, and engineering schools are rising faster. Outside investment in Orlando is much higher than in Tallahassee, which is a government town where most of the lawmakers wish they didn’t have to visit.

This also applied to Orlando.

North Carolina now talking about leaving the ACC

The rumors of realignment in college athletics are back and the latest report on Monday afternoon focused solely on the University of North Carolina and its future in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

A report from WRAL suggests that the university Board of Trustees has met several times in closed-door sessions about the future of athletics and that a push to leave the ACC is becoming more and more likely.

Well June 30th is next month so realignment talk is going to warm up again.

What the hell is this rumor that Utah is looking at ACC. Why exactly would they want to jump on that sinking ship?

OK I did a quick search and see the rumors about Utah to ACC. Doesn't make any sense unless they want to get away from BYU for some reason. But if there is any truth to it let them go, the ACC is on far shakier ground than the Big12. The Big12 is currently set up to solidly be the 3rd of the power conferences while the ACC is on the verge of collapse.

I think it's very important to the Utes to be able to carryon their long and storied rivalries with Cal and Stanford

I don't think anyone would give a sh*t if they left.
I'd laugh if they actually did it. Highly doubt they will though. The Big 12 is the most stable league in the country outside of the super conferences. Nobody is leaving it for the ACC.

We're not hurting for exposure being here either. 4-8 is 4-8......we open with an FCS team and ESPN still wants our game on Thursday night to begin the first weekend.

Just because. Well, ****. The link is a highlight of Miracle in Michigan.

I’ll never forget watching that play and game. We drove from Camp Lejeune, NC to Durham to watch it in a sports bar. The game was so out of hand in the second half, they flipped the main tv to another game and we were watching it on a 6” screen in our booth. When Westbrook caught the ball, I went completely bonkers and everyone in the bar was looking at me like I had two heads since no one else was watching the game to know what just happened.

One of the greatest games ever. I was there on the field and only had a limited view. It was pandemonium. All the M fans were standing in shock with all their dental work on display. They didnt announce on the PA that we scored and didnt update the scoreboard for like 2-3 minutes. :ROFLMAO:
