Yup. They spend a lot marketing in the area as well. Lots of billboards etc. in PHX. A decade ago maybe, former Sun Dan Majerle was hired as HC to transition GCU to D-1 in hoops....a local "name" hire to get Suns fans on-side. They've had some success, winning the conference autobid and going to the NCAA a few times. Though, lately GCU success in the WAC seems to coincide with the demise of NM State hoops.No. Campus in Phoenix.

The Majerle thing ended acrimoniously and GCU hired former Vandy coach, Bryce Drew. Brother of Scott Drew and famous for the Valparaiso buzzer beater in the NCAA tournament many years ago.
So, on the one hand, GCU is spending money and making moves but, on the other hand, still an underwhelming addition to this sports fan.
Perhaps overshadowed in the NBA’s announcement, the Big 12 piece is a significant boon for the conference. The deal shifts football games scheduled to air on ESPN+ streaming to more visible linear channels, gives the league a fourth network partner and positions the conference well in its next television contract negotiations, Yormark said.
FYI for our FuboTV subscribers - they're in a lawsuit with Warner and do not have any of their channels (TBS, TNT, Tru, etc.). This also makes that service useless for the NCAA Basketball Tournament.
Games will also stream on HBO Max for those that have it.FYI for our FuboTV subscribers - they're in a lawsuit with Warner and do not have any of their channels (TBS, TNT, Tru, etc.). This also makes that service useless for the NCAA Basketball Tournament.
This will only help with less ESPN + games.

Bravo Yormark.
In fairness to that argument, it is true that the top 8 in the SEC standings have combined for 1 non-conference loss - which was aTm losing by 10 in August to a Notre Dame squad that is in the top 10.Starting to look like the SEC is going to whine and try to blow things up if they somehow don’t get six schools into the playoffs.

Mercer is no joke.Agree with what you are trying to portray but how many FCS teams are included in those wins?

And for Texas, their best conference win is Vanderbilt lol.Unless I missed a game, the best non-conference wins for the top half of the SEC:
1. Georgia over Clemson in Atlanta.
2. Texas over Michigan in Ann Arbor.
3. Alabama over Wisconsin in Madison.
4. Tennessee over NC State in Charlotte.
All four were blowout wins, but outside of Clemson, we are talking three fringe bowl teams.
I will give Georgia the benefit of the doubt in regards to schedule, but not so much anyone else.
The ACC rivalry games will matter a ton this year. It may be what determines whether the ACC gets 1 or 2 teams in. Certainly the Clemson-Cocks game has implications.Unless I missed a game, the best non-conference wins for the top half of the SEC:

What are the SEC’s options? Pounding the table for 5 autobids every year? Removal of conference championship games? Closing off the CFP to non-P2 programs?
None of those are realistic.
Not realistic but it won’t stop them from whining about every single yearWhat are the SEC’s options? Pounding the table for 5 autobids every year? Removal of conference championship games? Closing off the CFP to non-P2 programs?

I thought there were proposals floated that the CFP next year would be guaranteed 4 each B1G/SEC, +3 next highest conference champs, + 1 at-large.What are the SEC’s options? First of all they should STFU till they play 9 in conference games each season.Starting to look like the SEC is going to whine and try to blow things up if they somehow don’t get six schools into the playoffs.
100%. If I was in control of the committee, I would have dropped Alabama by 5 or more slots for one week, just to send a message to the SEC that they better stop scheduling late season D-II opponents.First of all they should STFU till they play 9 in conference games each season.

Also, to be fair - they were marquee when scheduled.Unless I missed a game, the best non-conference wins for the top half of the SEC:

If it stays chalk, the four from the B1G seem safe, then 4 other conf. champs, plus ND, plus the SEC CCG loser leaves really 2 spots up for grabs.Unless ND loses a game or the committee bumps IU down far enough after tOSU thumps them the ACC is not getting 2 teams in, and the SEC isn't getting more than 4 because there's simply not enough slots.
