CU misses out on 8th grader

Any reason why you needed to include CU in the thread title? Seems unnecessary.

Stupid to offer a 8th grader to be though. Too much can change.

LSU gets in the 2017 fun...

His workout numbers certainly don't reflect that youth. In addition to the blistering 40 time, the 6-foot, 205-pound middle schooler posted a broad jump of 9 feet, 3 inches and a 34-inch vertical leap. Impressive as they were, the latter two weren't so surprising to his father.
"I already knew that he could jump the 34-inch vertical, and we were actually working toward 9 feet in the broad jump. I didn't think it was going to come then, but I felt it coming," Edward Moses said. "The 40 -- that blew me away. I wasn't expecting a 4.46 40-yard dash."

This is everything wrong with college sports. I don't know what is worse, schools offering scholarships to kids in middle school, or ESPN writing about it.

Before this, the only time I ever heard of a kid getting recruited that young, it actually worked out pretty well. Some guy by the name of "Champ." I think he plays for the Broncos now.

Are we sure this kid doesn't have a Dominican Republic birth certificate.

And yes I agree that it is ridiculous to be recruiting kids this young.

Agreed this is ridiculous. First of all why is UW even allowed to talk to middle schoolers? What if the kid injures himself? Is UW planning on honoring that commitment they made to him? Guessing no. It is a terrible move for the school, team and kid to have 14 year old committing to play in 4 years. I HATE the NCAA and their insane rules..... but this is one of those times i wish they would step in and say ok enough is enough. I mean come on they have rules talking to recruits parents while in the bathroom but no rule about recruiting a kid who hit puberty 6 months ago?

Derrick Henry running back at Bama was offered by FSU his 8th grade year.

This kid probably can't get the grades required to get into CU anyway. Sark will move on in a few years so maybe the kid will change his mind, do the right thing and commit to Nebraska when the chips are down. LOL!

He has maintained over a 3.0 GPA so far in high school. If you read the article you would have known that.
