Anyone on the planet know why CU doesn’t give Drew Carter a chance? What is the issue? Keeping Brendon Lewis in games when he is clearly struggling is not helping Lewis, and is unfair to Carter and the rest of the team.

We'll never know since all he gets do is hand the ball off. Not even an opportunity to see if he can run the offense.
The coaches have made that determination already. They indicated that the BYE week was an open competition, which Lewis won. So far, Carter is unable to differentiate himself as the man.

They obviously think Oklahoma has no idea what they are doing…letting their backup play when the starter struggles.

All Lewis gets to do is hand the ball off or get sacked. I don't know that allowing Carter to go in and get sacked adds a whole lot to his development.

all about getting reps to prevent things like this

You find out if he can get the ball out of his hands and not take a coverage sack. You find out what part of the playbook he can execute.

I couldn't believe Lewis was still trotting out at the start of the 4th quarter.

Putting the backup in for the final possession in a game like that is stupidity gone to seed.

Either get him meaningful game reps by putting him out there for the entire 4th quarter, OR keep him on the sideline for the entire game to help preserve his redshirt.

What they did was inexcusable, and reminiscent of what Hawkins did with Hansen. At least Hawkins had a reason for what he did (a terrible one, but hey you could at least explain the logic).
