CU Soccer Remains Perfect In Spring Play

DENVER – The University of Colorado soccer team extended its spring winning streak here Saturday, defeating Fort Lewis College and Regis at the Regis University Tournament. Colorado shut out both of the Division II opponents, holding each to just a single shot.

Since head coach Danny Sanchez took the helm in the spring of 2012, the Buffaloes are an outstanding 17-1-1 in spring play. CU opened 2014 in March, grabbing wins over Air Force and Metro State.

The spring schedule is a good opportunity for younger players to get time on the pitch and newcomers to get a feel for the team. Soon-to-be sophomore Kenzie Tillitt was the starting goalkeeper in both games, though the Buff backline was so solid the keeper only needed to grab one save. Transfers Morgan Stanton (Santa Clara) and Kahlia Hogg (Florida State) each made starts for the Buffs, against Fort Lewis and Regis, respectively.
