Good news all around.
Good news all around.
Disappointing that Talton outplayed Dom for sure. Also, very curious as to how Fortune looked. The best news that could have come out of that scrimmage is the defense though, it was awful last year and was more than likely the cause of the downfall along with Scott being hurt.
Its only disappointing if you assume Talton hasn't improved. Agree on D though. Tad's first two seasons were so much fun to watch, partly because of the high level of defense we played.
Compared to last year's scrimmage, it's great to hear this positive sentiment.
Not too surprised about XT's outperformance. I hate how negative this sounds, but he's a great practice player, and a scrimmage is much easier to play loose in than under the lights and in front of a crowd.
Sigh? What position does he play?Sigh
are you just being positive or did you really hear that he is a great practice player? That is something that I never heard before
Two things on the XT note:
1.) This could be a way of someone on the team to motivate Dom. Whomever runs the point for us is going to have to be strong mentally to keep the team going. Time to start challenging him and see if he can handle it.
2.) This doesn't necessarily mean that Dom sucked. XT, when he plays within himself, is a good player for us. The problem is that sometimes he tends to try to play above and beyond his limits. If XT is playing smart ball, this is great news for the team.
And yeah, like Birch said, it's one source from one scrimmage. Not going to hit any panic buttons and/or start launching celebratory balloons.
And the whole Talton over Dom stuff has got to stop. This was one source's opinion. Could have been the ball boy who Talton joked around with before the scrimmage. Let's not get carried away here. Every year this forum hype's Talton in preseason and then flips on him during the year. He'll give us solid minutes here and there. He'll hit some threes. The more he's allowed to be a secondary player while on the court, without any pressure, the better he'll be.
Dom's our point. And he's better than Talton. No offense, but true words.
Where is this hyping of Talton you speak of?
Okay. It was a poor choice of words.
