SAN FRANCISCO — After leading the Buffs to a 22-9 regular season mark, junior Alexa Smith has been named to the All-Pac-12 Team. Four other Buffs, junior Naghede Abu, freshman Brynna DeLuzio, senior Joslyn Hayes and junior Frankie Shebby, were named to the honorable mention squad.

Smith, a 6-1 outside hitter from Colorado Springs, Colo., was named to the honorable mention squad in 2016 and moved up to the first team this season after averaging 4.01 kills per set, which is seventh in the Pac-12. She also ranks 10th in attacks per set (10.04) and is seventh in the league in points (4.41). Smith also adds 2.90 digs per set while hitting .246. She is the fourth Buff since 2011 to earn All-Pac-12 team honors, joining Alexis Austin, Nicole Edelman and Taylor Simpson.

DeLuzio was also named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team, becoming the first Buff to ever earn the honor. Five others have been named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman honorable mention team.

Colorado finished the regular season with a 22-9 overall record and was tied for fifth in the Pac-12 standings with a 12-8 mark. CU will face James Madison on Friday, December 1, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
