So we started this a couple days ago and BUFFNATION seemed to really like the idea. We are on our couch - watching some Sunday night Football and still amped from the Buffs win yesterday. Ask us anything and we will work on getting you guys some insightful answers!

Keep this AMA rolling all year too - we love the dialogue with you guys.

CUnit, I have heard rumors that there used to be a "Buffalo Stomp" at folsom back in the glory days, where the students would all stomp and it would sound like a stampede. What are your thoughts of doing something similar prior to tip-off? When you all were jumping at the end of the game with the "I Believe that we will win" you could really hear the stomping on the concrete.

10-15% KU fans means there were most likely no more than 1300-1400. 2k is high. 1k is low. Either way it was a HUGE change from where we were 2 years ago when KU fans held about 25-30% of tickets. I think we did a good job keeping tickets out of KU fans hands.

We’re familiair with the Buffalo stomp and have talked about it reincarnation at CU. To be honest, there is not a lot of information out there regarding the “Buffalo stomp” but we are working on learning more about it logistically. Also, in terms of the “I believe” chant from yesterday, that was good, really good, and it finally looked the way it was supposed to.

What can fans do to support C-Unit? Most of us have no idea what resources you have or what you could use. Any ideas you have for taking things to the next level?

Screw that (so to speak). When they're not at games ... do they patrol the campus at night looking for transgressors? Do they leave the campus to stomp on anyone who dislikes CU? A really big part of me hopes the answer is "yes."

When does the CUnit take its game to Folsom?

Working on strategy. Although it’s not going to be the CUnit at Folsom. Also, continuing to win will help. I get the question, really do, but the CUnit focuses on Colorado mens basketball.

What brand of balloons do you guys use? Do you use off-brand marshmallows? Do they still hold the nails and batteries?

How many students are in the CUnit? Do you guys have regular meetings or how does the communication work?

Great question. When the student section is full there are 3000 students in the CUnit.

When we have regular meetings (yes we have them) we have about 30 students that contribute. We had a pretty amount of interest after last year. This season is the first season we have used a large group like that and we have freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors. Every year previous there were about 2-3 people doing it all. LITERALLY EVERYTHING is student run, produced and decided. That makes things uniquely difficult and uniquely rewarding. We have a VERY good relationship with the Athletic Department and there is always a representative from the AD that we NEED for communication and assistance ($).

What can fans do to support C-Unit? Most of us have no idea what resources you have or what you could use. Any ideas you have for taking things to the next level?

We have what I would consider to be a formal request in to the AD to open a channel for donations directly to the CUnit. The ONLY way we can make this happen is this: We need alumni to communicate to the AD that this is something that they want. I’ve met the donors out there that want it too. The AD is very focused (as they should be) on garnering support for a $142million dollar facilities upgrade so they fear that ANOTHER channel for donations is a distraction. The other side of that coin is that any marginal dollar contributed to CU athletics in ANY WAY is a good thing. If we had direct donations we would be able to budget ourselves as opposed to budgeting for in a larger budget. This is probably the best way we can take things next level.

FYI - that chant sucks because "can't" sounds the same as "can" with 3,000 people yelling it.

If it moves forward, it needs to change to "You will lose at altitude". Kind of rhymes, also.

Could go something like this:

You will lose!
You will lose!
You will lose at altitude!

The cadence was off when we tried the chant in-game. We moved it back to the drawing board.

I was thinking a special entrance would be cool. A deal where all the students rush into their seats at the same time, just before tipoff. Have four or five lines of students lined up outside, and then all enter the arena on cue, yelling and screaming the whole time. Has anybody ever considered this? Mutual interest mostly. There are a lot of students out there that really really want and do dedicate their time to making the CUnit function. At the beginning of the year we did a social media blast and found those students. We did a brief screening to make sure they understood the idea behind the CUnit, the values, the tradition, the history, the expectation, and to make sure they were actually students at CU and season ticket holders and whatnot. It ended up being a very good process and opened our eyes to how much the basketball team has influenced the student perception of CU athletics on campus. We have some of the best student basketball fans in the country, honestly, i’d put them up against students from any top basketball school any day. Those kids are entitled.
