The WR coach (Walters) and the Cornerback Coach (La Russa) positions are obviously filled.
That leaves the only coaching opening as Special Teams positions open I believe.

Also note that Walters has title of Recruiting Coordinator (and staff Tweeter).

Jariya is a nice get for the assistant position.

What possible reason is there not to announce Troy Walters as part of the staff? Especially if he is the recruiting coordinator. It probably doesn't matter, the staff must be keeping the recruits informed that is all that matters. It is just odd.

It might be some stupid state law that requires all jobs to be posted for a short time.

I don't like the idea of a RB/TE coach. I hope that isn't the case come regular season. Those position meetings would be ridiculous.

I don't guess I mind combining the two, but I guess, given our offense, I would rather have a running back coach do it than and guy that has spent most his football career with his hand on the ground. No offense to anybody, but it is two pretty drastically different skill sets.

Thought that was an odd combination too. May be Adams will coach tight Ends and blocking H backs and the last assistant coach will take the I backs and special teams.
Was La Russa first rumored to be the CB and Special Teams coach?

just saying it is not your prototypical tight end position. More like a big receiver, everyone spread out and ball out of qb's hand quick. Not much line blocking.

That's a very different statement from the above. Also, not sure how accurate this new statement is either.

who needs a director of recruiting during recruiting season?

seems like they might as well save the salary money until after signing day. this thing is on rails until then.

all good.. just say'n you usually don't see those big 6'7" 285 lb tight ends in pistol offenses. I coach football and coach the pistol. Takes advantage of your real athlete vs defensive weak points which is great for younger levels of football when there might only be 1 or 2 true athletes on your team.

I'm pretty sure you don't usually see big 6'7" 285 pound tight ends in any offense. And there IS a place for a blocking Hback/TE/FB in the HCMM offense. Go look at the videos.

I don't know of any other team that has a combo RB/TE coach. It will be interesting to see how it is explained when the coaches are introduced. Personally, I would rather we would get a specific RB coach with RB experience. But, I concede MacIntyre has had more success than I have had at coaching football.

You didn't play fullback for Davis per chance?

Maybe this was the issue with EBs offense. Kasa should have been a tailback and Abron should have lined up at TE. Duh

Anyone know what the deal is with graduate assistants? I thought a team was only allowed to have two, but looking around, including at CU, that's not the case. It would seem to me if Adams really was going to be coaching tight ends and running backs, it would be beneficial to have one of the four GAs be a former rb and give him some help.
