He paid $1,785,000 for it in June, 2006, and sold it for $1,575,000 in August 2011. Justice? Maybe a little.

BTW - this is public information. It's available to anybody who knows where to look.
 
I hope he paid a full 6% in realtor commissions, too, and lost another $94,500 on the deal.
 
Actually, given the current condition of the market, he made out pretty damn well.

Its' a 12% loss, which isn't terrible compared to most of the rest of the market, I suppose. Although I think it's unlikely that most property owners in Boulder County have lost 12% of the value of their home in the last 6 years. Plus, figure it probably increased to somewhere around $2MM before the market fell out in 2008.
 
Here is a question. Do you think Hawkins earned his annual income in 2007? With a bowl trip and wins over CSU, Nebraska, and of course Oklahoma, I actually enjoyed that season. I would almost be forgiving of that season's income. Thoughts?
 
My thoughts are that team was much more talented than anyone gave them credit for. If they can push around Oklahoma like they did, there is no excuse for them losing some of those other games the way they did. It's like they abandoned the gameplan they used for that game, after it was over even though it proved to be effective. Didn't make sense

Can't believe no one has tapped this angle yet...if anybody knows losing, it is D II Danny.
 
He was only a few negotiations away from selling it at a gain.
 
His realtor said he was waiting for the market to pop...but finally got his horns out and took the loss, as usual.
 
Two weeks ago on a plane headed to Chicago, I sat next to the guy who bought Hawk's house. He is not a CU alum but was a former Ball exec who is a CU supporter and season ticket holder. Said it took Hawk some time to realize he was going to take a loss and that the for sale sign was by owner. Hawk did not use a broker on his end to try and save on the fees. At least according to the guy who claimed to have bought it
 
I guess he didn't fix up the little things before selling it. Hell, he could have gotten more money from insurance if it was burned to the ground.
 
Should´ve chosen a different realtor. See, Danny, that´s what happens when the guys you trust don´t have that twinkle in their eyes ...
 
I know the family that bought the house. They are very proud to tell people they bought Hawk's house. I feel pretty bad for them. 1.5 mill for a house that will leave a stank on you worse than Jerry's BMW.

Everyone on this forum seems to have great conversations with the people sitting next to them on planes. When I get on a plane there is seldom an interesting person next to me.

One time I sat next to Gary Matthews Jr's girlfriend. She was hot.
