He was making a point about the news out of Florida lately, with all of their arrests, that you need guys who are "reckless" to win. He also cited Miami, Nebraska, and Ohio St. as winning MNCs while their best players were arrested. He then mentioned Colorado as having "One third of their roster was arrested when they won the title," he repeated it a few times actually. I know that team had some players in trouble, all of whom were disciplined appropriately it seemed, but:

Was 1/3 of our 1990 team arrested?

Was it refreshing to hear Colorado lumped in with Florida, Miami, Nebraska, and Ohio State today? (yes)

Heard it as well. Wouldn't surprise me if it was true and I'm sure it wasn't 1/3 of the roster in 90, just over the course of their careers.

The Boulder PD and campus police are the biggest assholes around. Seriously. They gave me hassle when a friend of mine hit my car.

Story:
A friend was following me and on the turn from 28th onto Colorado going towards Folsom (where the yield sign is) I had to brake a little too hard. My friend bumps me. I get out of my car and make sure my friend is fine. She is and there is no damage to either of our vehicles (thank goodness). Cop shows up and talks to me. I'm a little bit shaken up and he has me blow in his ****ing face to see if I had alchohol. I did NOTHING at this point to show that I was intoxicated nor did I have anything to drink that night. He made me do this multiple times and was close to requesting a request to see if I was under the influence. What a ****ing prick. I've hated the Boulder po-po/Campus police ever since.

Edit: Not saying that our guys were criminals, but chances are it was just stuff like MIPs. What a stupid thing and I doubt we had felons on the team.

Why was it Hemingway missed that first Orange Bowl against Notre Dame? I dont remember, just know it was huge in that game.

He threw a hot dog at a coach's wife during a pre-game party on a boat in Biscayne Bay.
 
This must fall under the any-press-is-good-press category.

I admit too that it was nice hearing CU on a national sports program, as it related to our national title, in the same breath with other powerhouses. I wanna go back to that.

When I was living in Miami I was at the Orange Bowl Game. I was just out of HS and trying to figure out what to do with my life. Anyhow, Ralphie ended up as some kind of subliminal inspiration I guess.

The stat you are refering to, about the number of players on the 1990 team with an arrest? I remember it being discussed in the media in 1990 so its probably real.

I suppose some in stats at ABC was a Notre Dame alum. It didn't help them win.

And since when is being arrested = being guilty?

And since when doesn't a young kid deserve a 2nd chance.
