6-6 Colorado vs 6-6 Alabama

Talk about an intersection of two teams heading in different directions.

Yeah, depressing cause we were all so hopeful after almost coming back to win that game

I was fully bought in at that point. The recruiting momentum was there too.

Marked the first time in 22 years we had a back to back losing seasons. Sadly, this will be our 5th in a row.

So damn tired of losing.

I mentioned this exact point last night while watching the AL vs LSU game. Mentioned that we had the same records but ended up in very different place.

Last semi-enjoyable season. 6-7 record wasn't great, but it certainly had its moments with wins over OU and putting 65 on Nebraska, and a few other nice ones like the win in Lubbock. I was certainly fooled at the time..

I was still on the fence with the defense. But had no idea 4 years later we would be one of the worst BCS teams

what i remember from that game was emailing a friend that the first Q was one of the worst quarters of Buff football i'd ever seen. little did i know, the ISU choke job of that same year was the reality...

but, i confess, i was a believer at the time to a degree. after Dizon and Wheatley left, the true Hawkins era reared it's ugly head. the fabled "Boise Playbook".

The 2 coaches' response to losses was telling.

Hawk: "You got to keep working on the little things... Can't get too high or too low...Blah, blah, blah."

Saban:"Changes in history usually occur after some kind of catastrophic event," Saban said during the opening remarks of his weekly news conference. "It may be 9-11, which sort of changed the spirit of America relative to catastrophic events. Pearl Harbor kind of got us ready for World War II, or whatever, and that was a catastrophic event." -- after losing to ULM.

Yep, Bama had just lost to Louisiana-Monroe AT HOME and we had just pounded Nebraska. Couldn't be more different programs since then.

gee, thanks Nut! for the pick me up this morning! but, I guess we can realize just how fast things can change (glass half full)?
