Depth Chart vs Nebraska

I was looking at our depth chart and noticed a few changes, one in particular, that Drew Lewis is not a starter. I know he will see signifiant playing time, but this definitely bodes well for the future of our program.

Next year, as of now we will have 8 Offensive and Defensive Starters returning. The future is looking bright!

8 per side, or 8 Total?

Interesting because he was on someone’s preseason list of top defensive players or something like that. Maybe it was CBS sports? Anyone remember?

I thought Lewis and Taylor were somewhat ineffective as pass rushers when running right at the offensive blocker. Wells actually has pass rush moves, and thus is a likely better player at that position. What Lewis and Taylor need is creative ways to get to the QB without just running at the end of the line. Hopefully we were vanilla on our rush tactics and have some exotic stuff for the Huskers. I think that Lewis, Taylor, and Wells will not likely rush immediately against Martinez, rather will both Spy the end of the line to determine if he is running, and keep him contained.

Weights on their defensive chart look like a 3 - 4 D geared to stop the run. Maybe not so much the pass. Should be fun.

Historically, the next game's depth chart is whoever trotted out on the field for the previous game's first snap. Especially on defense, that is dependent on the package the offense starts with.

They will adjust it for someone who is obviously out for a few games due to injury, but that's all it is. A rearward lens when we are trying to look forward.

Where did you find a week 2 depth chart?

Only one of the Colorado kids even listed on the depth chart and he’s starting at TE. Stoll.

Nevermind, I see JoJo as second team.

Edges will have to play disciplined, assignment football.
