Did I miss something? re: player suspensions

So admittedly I've been busier than normal and have not checked on with the same frequency as i have in months past. But I even searched AB for this and was unable to find any thread about our 4-5 DBs being suspended indefinitely and what exactly they did. I also saw nothing from the newspaper websites. Are we all just hush-hushing this, or do we genuinely not know (or is this tucked away in barzil)? What did these guys do? Someone fill me in!

The suspensions were handed down the first week of October. That says to me that failure to attend class could be an issue... not one that would warrant an indefinite suspension, but a contributing factor.

That is the assumption I am under. Maybe I am giving Embree way too much credit, but it has to be more than just missing classes.

I know. I'm asking "why". I think Embree mentioned (or BG or another writer did) that there had been academic issues with some of these guys and others in the past. But it doesn't make sense that it would have been the reason for the decision in early October.

It is in the middle of midterm season right now FWIW.

Multiple ways. As tini mentioned, mid terms. Probably a review time. I'm sure these guys have class attendance requirements, etc. Class attendance / midterm grade would be a perfect reason for Moten's quick return.

Not necessarily. I don't know if they do this now, but I feel like at times in the past the players were required to have their teachers turn in progress report type things. So, if these guys weren't going to class, weren't turning in assignments, weren't participating, etc., maybe they got bad reports and that prompted the suspension.

EDIT: Also, early October is exactly the time to step in if you're going to step in on academics. It's late enough in the semester to see patterns, but early enough for the student to pull his **** together and stay eligible and on track to graduate.
