Did Kinney's injury impact Stefanou's kicking?

No excuse for missing both of those kicks, but his holder did change. So much of kicking is about routine.

I think this is something that should be able to get fixed over the next 2 weeks as they get comfortable with a new holder and the routine.

There may be something to that in reality. But perhaps more important, because kicking has such a mental thing, this may help him compartmentalize the misses. Give him a reason besides "the moment"... and move on.

Maybe, maybe not. I'm just glad we aren't regretting it this morning.

Need to just work on it in practice, I guess.

I'm quite sure it impacted it. Never been a kicker but have been a holder. Routine is definitely a part of it, especially the timing of it.

Loy can't participate.

Sitting out a year after transfering from Vandy.

Going to be a strange situation. Kinney is a pro prospect and so is Loy. Both only will have next year to show their stuff.

Wonder if Loy transfers again. Know he can transfer to an FCS school, can he go to another BCS level school without penalty since this is his year of sitting out?

i thought loy had 3 to play 2

Davis Price took that over after Kinney got hurt.....wouldn't it be him?
Feel terrible for Kinney, but I have to say, Davis Price did a hell of a job for not getting any chance at warming up for punting. I punted in high school and I was no division 1 prospect by any means, but I can tell you going into a game to punt without having warmed up for that specifically would be hell and terrifying.

Stefanou hooked the makes to the left also. Those makes just happened to scoot inside the uprights. I wonder if this slice is intentional or just something he’s developed recently.

Typically you should have no hook or slice on the ball. The ball should fly straight and end over end. If the ball doesn't do that it was a bit of a miss hit, or the ball was not held properly. Usually hooking the ball is a result of trying to hit the ball to hard.

I absolutely loved when I saw this on Twitter this morning.

Stefanou is a grown man. He's 31 years old. Here's a 21 year old kid going over to him and being a leader, helping build him up.

I'm so excited for Montez man, but I'm scared he'll play so damn well that he'll declare for the draft early. I want another year of Montez.

If he continues his current rate of productivity and stays healthy this season, he’s gone. Montez is a much better prospect than Josh Allen (similar size/arm talent except Montez is much more accurate) and we all know how that went.

Montez having a big year and leaving would actually do wonders for our logjam at the QB position.

Yeah...

I keep going back and forth on this. Would having a QB drafted in the first three rounds be a boon to the program that would offset losing a star player like Montez? It's possible, and I definitely want him to be successful, but I'd be sad if he left. I've been a huge fan since he committed.

That being said, I really like the guys we have behind him. I'll bet the logjam clears up in a damn hurry though if he declares. I could easily see a situation where any of Stenstrom, Noyer or Lytle (Maybe even Evans?) win the starting job in camp and the other guys look to transfer.

I don’t care about the numbers as much as I care about whipping NU’s ass next year.

Liked that it was MM that recognized and tweeted it.

One thing with Montez, could be wrong, just what I see from him. He gets a little cute with throws at times, Idk, kinda like he doubts what he's doing. Some, you are like, wtf, in a bad way. Then, there are those type throws he made against Nebraska and CSU. It's still wtf but in a good way. If he can find a happy medium in there, look the **** out.:D
