Did we get away with one on the picked up flag for roughing the kicker this past wknd?

Seemed like a really close call on replay. They said we tipped it so no roughing; I honestly couldn't tell. What say you? Good call or no?

Ref on the field said it was tipped, replay confirmed.

More notable to me was that we were that close to getting a solid block. Blocking punts normally isn't just a guy beating his man, it is about talent and coordination and scheme. Indicator that we may be finally getting our act together on special teams.

I agree. I actually was just watching the replay as I started this thread. The first replay angle and watching it live; I really thought the back judge was crazy. But that last angle they showed was the best one, almost definitive even. You can really see the ball change spin.

It's actually a really great call the more I look at it. You've got the head ref there throwing the flag on the side of the field it happened, and it looks like maybe the back judge calls him off, you can clearly see him signal the tip. Great catch there.

Apparently threre was a crucial opi in the byu Utah game. The conspiracy continues.

The back judge had a perfect view, and he was instant in saying it was tipped. I never saw a replay that was definitive, but given zero hesitation on the part of the guy with the best view, I figured it was good.

Now, on the other punt when the CU guy went under the punter's outstretched leg and bumped him, I thought that probably should have been called. The punter was very vulnerable at that moment, and while the contact was minimal, it was potentially very dangerous - I was really surprised it didn't get flagged.

looked tipped, ref signaled immediately

the 2nd one we definitely ran into the kicker and it wasn't called, so that was nice
