DiStefano Lets A Donor Know Where He Stands

Awesome. Confirms what we all know. We're ****ed until Benson and Phil go.

DeStiff & Benson never cease to amaze me with their negitive attitude towards CU athletics, especially football. I wish we had Gordon Gee back.

I'll include my comments from the news board:

Granted, I wasn't there so I can't truly say how the conversation went. But, if he was as defensive and rude as he sounds, he completely failed as a fiduciary of the University. With his responsibility, he should always be capable of finding a constructive way to have that discussion. He should acknowledge the question and layout the challenges CU is facing and communicate how they could really use as much donor help as possible. Think of Bohn what you will, but he would have handled that conversation in a very positive manner.

I've notified my regents, and I suggest you do the same. Yeah, you can tell me that they don't give a rip, but they are elected officials that need my vote. Enough noise will cause them to take notice.

**** those guys. Why do they even go to the games when they clearly couldn't care less?

I wonder how hostile this conversation was when it started. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I the chancellor was confronted by an angry, whining and probably entitled fan, it is no surprise that he said "if you've got the money, we can get it done."

Perhaps you all think CU should follow CSU's folly of approving a new stadium before raising one dollar for its construction.

Well give them a reason to donate. Wish the football and bball team could keep all what they make. I love CU more than some alums, that's pathetic if u think about it.

hmm. Ya, it's not like one guy here is getting paid to catch flies and the other is the ****ing fly. You kind of suck.

Cool Story, Bro...

Who the **** are you? Money talks and bull**** walks dude, it's really that simple. **** feelings, results are what we need and, make no mistake, it benefits the whole school not just monetarily.

I think that was Distephano's message, as well. Money talks, bull**** walks.

It is easy to talk about facilities improvements and so forth - but if the money's not there, then the money's not there.

Chancellor Philip DiStefano will deliver his annual State of the Campus address on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 8 a.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom. Refreshments will be served at 7:30 a.m.

I am tempted to go and start asking him the tough questions.

Probably but it might not hurt for them to get in the corner of CU football. It doesn't just benefit football.

So disheartening.....how is it that this guy thinks money will poor in when they have shown no leadership or no vision over the past 10 years...Even if I had $50 million, why would I donate it? Out of sheer love for the University that I'd blindly throw money into the wind?

Benson is not this stupid as he knows how to make money....he just doesn't care and Disteph is just his pawn

Post that as a note to the editor at the post. As much as I hate the post, that will get publicized very quickly.

It was far from an angry conversation. I walked up to him shook his and and re-introduced myself to him as I had not seen nor talked to him since last basketball season. We exchanged pleasantries and I told him I really only had the one question to ask, which was when were going to get serious about the facitlies upgrades. It was not angry or hostile as you mentioned. As far as me being angry, whining or entitled, you might want to meet me before making that type of conclusion. What I am, is a 2 time graduate of CU, a 20 year plus season ticket holder for football, a season ticket holder for Basketball, and an avid supporter of everything CU. Entitled, not really. Expecting leadership, vision and a plan for fixing issues that face the AD and other departments across campus, abosulutely. They have failed miserably in doing this for the AD and last night was just one more example.

just emailed my regent. I told him about the exchange you had Brad and how upset I was that a leader of the university would do that. I specifically asked for his stance on athletics. I hope he gets back to me and I would urge everyone to email their regent and do the same. If you guys want to do something to help the AD, then let your regent know how DiStephano is representing the school and demand that we get a plan in regard to athletics.

If you need talking points, Nik or Skiddy can probably draft a articulate letter that you can cut and paste to send. Remember these are elected officials and they answer to US

here is a link that dio provided to find your regent:

DiS's probable message ("Money talks...") is certainly correct in the bottom-line world. He gets his bonuses, after all - he's got the Pac12 money locked up, that's all he's required to do. He shouldn't have to work at anything else, right?
