Does any team live in the past more than the buffs?

Does Georgia Tech have ex players all over the airwaves? Do they have their old coach around the program as much as we do with Mac?

It's time to move on to the next chapter. I don't want to find the next coach Mac. I want to find the next coach that is going to take this to a big time level.

Black, White, Yellow I don't care.

I kind of hope, that as ugly as this has been, that we are able to use this as an opportunity to cleanse all the bad **** that has been hovering around this program for 15 years.

This is true. Lately I am fearing that NO big name coach will touch CU in its present state and that we'll have to gamble on a smaller less sexy name. This program has really fallen apart and the school hasn't yet shown a commitment to football.

When people say find the next coach Mac, they don't mean go out and get a former player or buff imo. They're saying we need to find a energetic young coordinator (like Wilcox), or HC (gary anderson, mahlzan) to guide our Buffs back to the top. Where we belong. :gobuffs:

Why not start here on AllBuffs? i don't think we should censor anyone, but we can stop the smear campaign and focus on more important things. Like whos going to be our new HC.

Well, to be totally honest, the past is all we have.....

I only watched games from 1990-1994 the past 12 weeks.....

We won every game.

Football is all about history. Look at Notre Dame. All the old programs live in the past.

The **** do you guys have to look back at? Some wins in the 20's and 30's?

You do not want to mess with me right now Tini. I will destroy your ass. Go to the Sink if you now have ID, look at pussy you won't ever pull in and shut the f*ck up.

Go find some CU alum and send them to this thread. Preferably, well read posters who can spell and form a cogent analysis on the subject.

Did you not follow college football for most of the mid 2000's? Notre Dame won't shut the hell up about their past unless their winning, (i.e, like right now)

Its not just football, all sports live in the past. And when they are down all the fans talk about is getting back to the good all days.

Minnesota.

Their fans troll all over the Big Ten message boards about how they have seven National Championships. Yes, but six of them came before 1941 and the last was in 1960. They're worse, by far.

It's a healthy balance.

You need to honor your history/traditions, without completely living in the past.

I feel like, while currently a bit of an ugly situation, CU is finally striking out the proper balance between recognizing our past, but also putting it behind us and aiming to create a new, exciting, successful future. Frankly, it's long overdue. It feels like the 7 year blackhole of '05-'12 is finally on its way out.

I do miss Eddie Crowder. This would not be happening if his voice of reason was still alive and around the program.

I'd say all fans live in the past, when the past is "better". As a Marshall fan, as well as a Colorado fan, reading Herd message boards our fans act as if we were infallible in the late 90's. We had a magnificent run, but it wasn't perfect, we lost several games we should've, we constantly had guys arrested, we were put on probation, but a large part of our fan base acts as if we never lost a game, that we whipped on on Top 25 teams week in and week out. 8 win seasons and competing for conference championships is no longer good enough, because in the 90's we won 10 and won championships, but they tend to forget we were in the MAC, they turn a blind eye to how the college football landscape has changed in the last decade.

Here's a little factoid...many of the kids we are recruiting were born in 1994...Coach Mac's last year of coaching.

At this point we have nothing but the distant past and future. Nothing in between. We tried to go back, failed miserably and cut bait at the appropriate time. CU is finally looking forward. Go Buffs!
