Embree Era has Begun

Sounds like it started with as much fire as we all thought it would. The camera has an article and the players all use some form of the word intense. For the first day of practice it sounded like Embree already had his foot on the gas and I dont think he is gonna stop to the pedal hits the floor. Interesting that coaches are like coaching and telling players when they have screwed up and what needs fixed (also getting in their face and pumping them up when they do it right). We finally have a mission set for our team, they know the requirements, and no failures will be tolerated.

Love how Embree told Speedy that if he cant hold on to the ball we are going to pass every down

in the notes at the end, it says "2 new names were on the roster,Alec Parker LB and Andre Nichol DE". Who are these guys?

Is Embree can do as well as TB, I'll be in heaven

"Redshirt freshman Justin Gorman is listed as a quarterback on the spring roster and depth chart, but he is practicing as a defensive back"

The question was raised in the article as to whether or not this level of intensity would continue with the coaches from here on out. It is the only way that JE knows how to coach....and he will continue to lead the team in the manner until the players learn to take on this level of intensity themselves.

Folks are going to love this guy....

About to head out to boulder for spring ball practice. I am eager to see Nick Hirshman and Brent Burnette.

Alec Parker
is from Standley Lake High School in Westminster Colorado. He's been at CU for a year (or two?) but just now walked on to the team. He was all-conference in 2008 - he graduated Standley Lake in 2009.

Depending on when he enrolled at CU, he has 3 or more years of eligibility if he sticks with it. If he was here in the fall of 2009, he has exactly three to play three.

Andre Nichols
is probably the 2010 graduate of Rampart HS in Colorado Springs. He was listed as "TE/LB Andre Nichols, Sr." in the Rampart 2009 season preview.

For me the best part of the article was how all of the players are really embracing the intensity. I like the quote from Tony Clemmons. Intensity with buy in from the players will really help us right the ship. I've got that good feeling down in my gut again for the first time in over 5 years.

Yep. There's some good vibes. I like how Speedy was saying it was hard to concentrate on classes on Friday because he was so excited about the opening day of spring practice.

Interesting that they're moving Richeter to DL

Not overly surprising that they would look at moving some guys. I really like Cunningham, Pericek, and Bonsu but other than Obi who will be a senior they have no real size behind a couple of undersized starters. I also take JE and EB at their word in saying that the OL is going to have to be more mobile in the future. Compared to the DL we have a higher number of O-linemen and more on the way.

this could be a move that gives Richter a better shot as contributing on the field as well
