I think he's striking the right balance. Bust out the pro combat uni for a black out game or something along with one road game, but keep the classic uni for the other 10.

I'd be down with an "all-black" uni (matte helmet included) as long as it's pretty conservative. No enlarged Buffalo on the helmet or Black and Gold Checkers.
 
Would like to see CU go with a retro silver and black look as an alternate. Mix the Whizzer throw backs with a more modern design. Keep the horns on the helmet. That would be sick.
 
I don't mind 1 cool alternate every now and again, but I don't care for the matte finish

This is true, but I still think ALL black would look better should we go with this. Although I don't see anything wrong with what we have now and should we want a blackout game, just put on black pants. Simple and excellent. Why mess with our great uniforms? We are as classic as a PSU or Bammer, but with a little more zaz... Kinda like the Michigan of the west (but better colors).
 
All black with a gold buffalo decal on the helmet, again gold not yellow. Put some silver somewhere on there, it'd be sick.
 
I find the application of the word "combat" to football uniforms rather amusing.
 
Can somebody please post the silver and black helmet we wore a few years back for I think it was for the Baylor game?
