Embree, team at game?

It would be great if CU fans really embraced all it's teams.

With all the recent talk of "Buff Nation" and "family", if Mr E isn't out recruiting, or something equally important, he ought to stop by the game and encourage his players to also. I think him taking a bus to a bar 1st day, was a bit of a statement that CU wants support from all of it's family, not just the big donors.

An NCAA berth and a major bowl each year, packed houses and lots of spirit and donations.

he was in the club room before the game, and gave a quick intro in the middle of the 1st. Called out the students and asked them not to show up late.

They need to stop scheduling the damn games at 11 then and make them 3 and later. Much better attendance, and night games are much more fun.

I like night games too, however students need to be at their seats at least 10 min B4 kickoff. Early games is no excuse. I'm sure they don't come late at Ohio St, LSU, Bama....

Students are those universities have to camp out for seats, even if they have student tickets. I'd love for CU to garner that much support from the student section.

tg,

Let's not use kickoff time as an excuse. I have never been to a game when the student section was full as Ralphie was running. Never.

I believe the PAC scheduling will hlep this alot. I don't think I have ever seen a PAC game on TV before about 2pm here locally. Agree though, no CU game should start before about 3 or 4 pm.

I believe the PAC scheduling will have the opposite effect. I think CU at home will be playing many more early games. The PAC wants to expand it's brand, and I think getting a school in the mountain time zone helps them get those early slots. IMO, they would love it if they could play their 6 games as follows every weekend:
noon et
1:30 pm et
3:30 et
5 et
7 et
9 et

The PAC could actually do this, and I imagine they would love to. CU, being the furthest East, would be the optimal school to get one of those early slots. I personally also like the afternoon/evening games, but I worry we're going to be subjected to those early times.

I also agree with Emburrito that we need to get in the stands earlier. That problem didn't happen with Bball tonight. We showed up before tipoff. We can do this kids. I like playing polish horseshoes and consuming some beverages as well, but lets get in there for kickoff!

It would be a huge help if they let the students into the stadium before the games. While the alumni and other ticketholders can get into the stadium an hour and a half before kickoff, the students are left outside the fences until about 15 minutes before kickoff, then they have about 3 people to check all of the tickets, so you can't get in anyways. Why show up on time?

That's not true students get in at the same time

Probably right about those specific schools. But University of Wisconsin students show up just as late as CU students, and they were a top ten team this season. So it's not like CU is the only program with this issue.

I also wanted to mention Lockridge was at the game.

Didn't have this problem when I was going to school there. Get off your asses students! They don't check very hard for "contraband" coming into the game!

Closest I can remember is the blackout game against FSU a few years ago. We got there "on time" and were wedged into the student section up high near the band. That game had one of the best atmospheres ever (at the beginning anyway).

Was never an issue when I was a student for the 98-02 Seasons. Must be because we suck now and students are apathetic.

Wasn't an issue when I was a student. I believe the main reason was they sold beer back then.

That's not quite true. I was a student at the same time and people would both show up late and leave at half time to go to the church across the street to get beer.

Good ol' United Methodist - loved that place!

so when you went to school it was easy to get into the games, but you had a hard time finding a spot to park your dinosaur.

I kid I kid.

When I was there from 03-07 I never had a problem getting in...typically would show up around an hour before kickoff and was usually able to claim a seat in the first couple of rows on the 35-40 yard line (section 116 or 117 I think)...
