I think ESPN started this first. With around half ownership in the SEC Network, ESPN is running commercials for SECN and even doing cut-aways to SECN analysts during broadcasts. FS1 has been doing the same with BTN. Half time on Thursday night, they went from their main show to a full BTN studio preview of this weekend's games.
I wonder if the Pac-12 has put itself too much on an island. We're already on an island geographically. With media, by keeping 100% ownership, we're also on an island in terms of promotion of the network and also in terms of having a big-muscled partner to help us force carriage on cable & satellite systems.
Anyway, those commercials and cut-aways have been annoying the **** out of me.
