  1. Cody Kessler (USC)
  2. Jared Goff (Cal)
  3. Mike Bercovici (ASU)
  4. Kevin Hogan (Furd)
  5. Vernon Adams (Oregon)
  6. Anu Solomon (Zona)
  7. Travis Wilson (Utah)
  8. Sefo Liufau (Buffs)
  9. Jerry Neuheisel (UCLA)
  10. Luke Falk (Wazzu)
  11. Jeff Lindquist (UDub)
  12. Seth Collins/Nick Mitchell (OSU)

My first reaction was to disagree with 8th. But looking at the list, I don't know how I'd move him up. In fact, I think I'd rank them the same way right now.

Sefo could definitely pass Wilson and Solomon on the field this year to get in the top half since neither is a very efficient passer and both benefited from their 2014 WRs (especially Solomon). You also don't know what you'll get from Hogan (could be great or could lose his job). Adams is a wildcard.

So I think 8th is the right rank at this time, but with potential to be in the top half of the conference and a ceiling as high as 3rd or 4th.

Hogan, Solomon, Wilson are huge question marks for their teams. All were as inconsistent as Sefo was. This is a crazy conference in terms of talent though. Can't really argue with the ranking either. 4-9 were probably very hard to sort

I would move Sefo ahead of Vernon Adams (until he can prove that he can do it at the Pac 12 level) and possibly Travis Wilson as well.

Personally don't like Goff at #2 either, but can't argue with the numbers that the "bear raid" offense puts up. Any other system and I don't think you see him be very successful

I agree with the top 3. They're all better than the rest. After that though, Sefo could easily be 4th or 8th with differences very slim.

2014 NCAA FBS Quarterback Rankings (returning Pac-12 starters)

4. Cody Kessler (167.1)
23. Jared Goff (147.6)
26. Kevin Hogan (145.8)
32. Mike Bercovici (144.1)
59. Travis Wilson (134.7)
65. Sefo Liufau (131.8)
67. Anu Solomon (130.7)

2014 NCAA FBS Total QBR Rankings (returning Pac-12 starters)

11. Cody Kessler (78.9)
17. Jared Goff (75.2)
36. Kevin Hogan (68.1)
48. Travis Wilson (63.6)
57. Sefo Liufau (60.3)
62. Anu Solomon (58.5)
(Bercovici didn't play enough to qualify on this one - unqualified he was the best at 79.3)

Since QBR factors in rushing, avoidance of sacks and performance on penalties, it's a better measure of a quarterback's overall value.

The above really backs up my opinion that Anu Solomon is placed about right by ESPN and that Athlon dramatically over-rates him.

That list isn't as good as it's been the last few years.

Will Cyler Miles not be back in there for the fall? What is up with that situation?
I read that the other three QBs all played well this spring.
And the big impact defensive player was Gardenhire....

To be #7-8 in the PAC12 is still pretty good considering the talent in the conference. Looking for Sefo to make a leap this year.

If CU finished 8th in Pac-12 play I believe we would be bowling this year so I would be ok with that. (assuming OOC goes as expected)

I can't argue with that list at all. From top to bottom I pretty much agree with all of it.

Can't help but feel the Conference of Quarterbacks is taking a step back this year on the offensive side of the ball.

Hard not to when we had Mariota as a runaway #1 QB in the nation by every measure, Hundley a Top 15 or 20 guy by the stats, Mannion as a 3rd round draft pick, and Halliday putting up video game numbers. Also, Cyler Miles had middle-of-the-pack solid numbers and would have been pretty exciting as a returning starter if he hadn't decided to leave football this year... and now UW may end up with a true frosh winning the job.

There is opportunity for the Buffs. (I also like that CU doesn't have to deal with veteran QBs in the non-con like we had with Grayson and Frohnapfel.)

I think we picked the worst possible two year stretch to avoid UW on the schedule.

A lot of question marks in the P12 this year. Quite a few could be pretty bad and a good number could also turn out to be really good. I think Rosen is going to impress quite a bit even as a true freshman.

Personally don't like Goff at #2 either, but can't argue with the numbers that the "bear raid" offense puts up. Any other system and I don't think you see him be very successful

L O L. Goff is getting hype as the potential #1 overall pick this year

Is he even a lock to be the starter?

That is the rumor. UCLA has a lot coming back on offense and defense so it would be a good time to play a freshman qb. He is an EE and did play well in the spring game apparently.

I would put Sefo above the unknown kid from o and concussion wilson - Sefo tied for fifth on my list and would be higher if he had some of the talent around him these other qb's had past couple seasons. He did throw pass for pass against goff and that is who I would have ranked 1st

That is fine. I am sure the talking heads know more than I do. I personally have never been impressed by his game.

Don't like 4000yards/62% comp/35 TD's/7 INT's?

BTW Cal's O isn't exactly an "Air Raid." They run the ball more than we do
