ESPN to start its own streaming service

The debt isn't an issue as long as they can keep growing subscribers, which is for the foreseeable future. They are entering the time though where they can expect to start making profits and start to attack that debt.

These companies don't understand that people don't want a bunch of streaming services. They been ****ing Netflix over for years now, but I'm not going to go get a Disney subscription to replace the lost content

I've long maintained that the a la carte approach of all these exclusive content streaming platforms that is the inevitable result of cord cutting will ultimately end up costing as much or more as the traditional cable bundle. Its even more aggravating that companies like CBS are moving exclusive content like the new Star Trek Discovery series to their streaming platform where you have to pay an additional subscription fee to CBS when viewers may already be paying for CBS content as part of their cable subscription. They're basically trying to get folks to pay an extra $5 - $10 a month for a platform where they already have access to 95% of the content through other channels. And of course its only US customer's that will get to pay this extra money since the rest of the world will be able to get the show on Netflix.

Yep. You know where that's pushing me? Less tv. I'm becoming more selective in what I watch and don't care much about whether I've never heard of many of the shows I hear people talking up.

I pay a big cable bill, don't even watch so much. But haven't figured out how cord cutting fits for me.
I watch very few actual TV shows (I don't know a thing about game of thrones, or breaking bad, etc.). I've watched one showtime series and one netflix series in past three years.
I DO watch some sports, but almost always time-shifted via DVR (golf, CU fb and bb games, NFL games, college basketball)
Not sure streaming allows me to watch later when I have time.

This is true for me too. After getting rid of cable years ago, I just plain started watching less TV. I have Netflix and Amazon Prime (but really only for the shipping deal) and OTA. I don't miss TV at all. Really the only thing I am willing to pay extra for is a PAC sub, if they can ever get their act together on that.

It's nice, isn't it.

Attributing that just to the delivery scheme of the content may not tell the whole story. A big part of that may be related to your advanced...uhhhh...maturity.
