24. Colorado Buffaloes

A Buffs defensive supposedly gutted by the NFL draft has yet to allow a touchdown. Steven Montez found Shay Fields (110 yards) and others. Washington (two weeks away) can’t get here soon enough.

Previous Rank: 25
Week 2 result: Defeated Texas State, 37-3
Up next: vs. Northern Colorado (Saturday, 2 p.m. ET, Pac-12 Network)

I would have liked to see us put up closer to 50 for the national impression, but we forget that very, very few people have any idea how this game went or that our offense looked like the suck for 3/4 of the game.
Yep. Most of the national dialog (including PACN) is that CU is impressively taking care of business and the defense is shockingly better than they expected.

I hope we put on a rout against UNC. Did anyone notice the PAC12N promo for that game called it the first conference game of the year...amateur night over there.

PAC12 network is typically pretty amateur most of the time lol

The were talking about three different games in that promo. I thought it was pretty clear that they meant it was the first conference game for the Cougars and Beavers.

idk, I hate punishing teams too much for scheduling big time OOC matchups. Not a fan of rewarding teams for scheduling a bunch of garbage OOC. Ohio St vs Oklahoma type games are ****ing awesome and the loser shouldn't be punished too much.

I do not think Ohio State was punished enough. Without Oklahoma really beating themselves in the first half, that game is a full-on blowout. Quality of competition matters, but after watching Ohio State through two weeks, they are just not a top ten team right now.

Yeah, it's not that Ohio State should be punished for their scheduling, it's that they should be ranked according to their performances thus far, which are just not worthy of being ranked that high.

They've looked thoroughly unimpressive in both games, and frankly, they have no QB. Barrett has regressed completely into a kid who looks like he's just out of high school.

It's not about punishing them, but how good do you think they are through 2 weeks? Losing badly at home regardless of opponent tells me they aren't a top 10 team right now.

If OSU had scheduled Rutgers and Montana, would you be so convinced they weren't a top 10 team? That's all I'm saying. They obviously should drop, I just don't know about dropping them super far because they got wrecked at home by Oklahoma.

It doesn't really matter so early in the season anyway, just my casual thought on the subject.

Yep. I don't like penalizing teams too much for playing good teams early. For them and Florida State, should be dropped to around #10 and then they drop more severely with a 2nd loss.

I know Rutgers is no powerhouse, but Washington did travel 3,000 miles and beat a BIG team on opening night. Ohio State didn't lose a tight game, they got beat pretty soundly at home. To me that's not a top 10 team right now. Your right though that it doesn't really matter this early I just think they got that one wrong.
