ESPN's Team Preview is Up

Insider access, though. As far as these things go it is remarkably accurate, although nothing we all don't already know.

Ultimately, continuity might prove key for Colorado. Just one other Pac-12 team (Utah, 79 percent) returns more than two-thirds of the past season's minutes. The Buffaloes, even figuring in the action Dinwiddie saw in the first half of the season, bring back 91 percent. That should be enough to put Colorado back in the conference's top five and give Boyle an excellent chance to lead the Buffaloes to the NCAA tournament once more.
Projected 2014-15 conference finish: Fifth

5th?! Hogwash I tell you!

I can't remember the last time I saw a decent preseason write up on ESPN. They cater towards the blue blood programs and will just jump on the bandwagon of whichever teams prove they are great early in the season.

5th? You can take your 5th and shove it up your collective asses, ESPN! Disrespect!

Pac-12 preseason coaches poll

Total votes next to teams; number of first-place votes in parentheses
1. Arizona Wildcats - 384 (32)
2. Utah Utes - 316
T-3. UCLA Bruins - 312
T-3. Colorado Buffaloes - 312
5. Stanford Cardinal - 250
6. Washington Huskies - 200
7. Oregon Ducks - 196
8. California Golden Bears- 182
9. Arizona State Sun Devils - 146
10. USC Trojans - 120
11. Washington State Cougars - 62
12. Oregon State Beavers - 36

Man. Lots of respect for Utah.

They are going to have to earn it in their OOC schedule

Seriously?

What I meant by my comment was that the writer, Kevin Pelton, got all his facts right. Usually these things don't even get the players names right. I think 5th is way too low. I think we'll be battling UCLA and Utah for 2nd.

Teams are going to hate coming to elevation and playing CU and Utah. Great opportunity for both of us.

They have Oregon at 7th with their 1 scholarship player, which tells you everything you need to know.

"Colorado? Oh, they're a one player team. They don't have Mustache Guy this year. It's just like losing Paul Richardson. Fifth at best."

Your mocking quote gives the lazy-ass journos at ESPN far too much credit! For example: you spelled "Mustache" correctly.......

Except for the fact that Kevin Pelton wrote the preview and he's one of the best basketball guys out there (was with Basketball Prospectus for years). And the preview praises Josh pretty expansively. And talks about how our front court is going to be really good this year. But if it makes you guys feel better to pretend we're being disrespected, rock on.

I saw nothing but bulletin board material.

No disrespect to KP, who covers the NBA, but how did he justify Oregon being middle-of-the-pack when they only have 3 returning scholarship players & 2 have already been in trouble? Is Joseph Young going to average 40 a game or is the bottom half of the P12 obscenely bad?

Honestly, I can't see Oregon falling too far back. They'll be like Cal was last season, I think.

Cal had a strong rotation w/ Cobbs, Solomon, Wallace, Bird, Kravish, Matthews & finished 4th. Oregon has Young & ? They only have 10 players on their roster, only 2 returning players who played significant mins, only 1 player above 6'7, & 40% of the roster are freshmen--- http://www.goducks.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=500&SPID=235&SPSID=4295

Of those UO freshmen, their forwards, Dillon and Brooks are 6-5 and 6-7, with both weighing in at less than 205.

Good luck with that sh*t, when the Buffs have 6-2, 6-3 guards, 2 to 3 years older who weigh as much; let alone a front court of XJ at 6-7 230, Gordon at 6-9 240, Miller at 6-9 255 and Jelly at 6-10 245.....

Wait, I thought ESPN hated us...

This just in: Jeff Goddman has been terminated from the ESPN network for an undisclosed breach of contract.
