Talked to a guy who is close with another guy who is close to the program who said all three are on a track to return next year.

I know that sounds Ferris Beuler- Esque, so take it for what it’s worth.

Julmisse was a surprise to me. But I realized that I hadn’t heard of him transferring anywhere.

These guys, on the field, would make a difference.

Anybody have any other insight in this?

I'd have a hard time believing Jul missed would be back, the other two maybe.

I know, great insight....

Umu is probably the guy who would help the most, given our issues on DL, but all three would certainly make a difference.

It hurts to think about it, but those three guys, playing against UA and ASU, probably turn those games into wins this year.

Having Gillam would have helped also...I think this team is 7-5/8-4 with them.

I'll take some/any good news right about now regarding our Mighty Buffs! This board has been tough going the past few weeks - I suppose rightfully so.

Falo ended up being a pretty big loss because of the guys who were playing at the end of the year. Umu would have been a nice depth piece when the defense started to get drained near the end of games.

And Julmisse > Wigley when either Udoffia or Oliver have missed time. It's not a stretch to say in games like Arizona, ASU and UCLA, 3 players that would have likely contributed a significant amount could have helped changed the outcome in one or two of them. It's also fair to say there are still massive issues on the DL, regardless of Umu or Falo.

He would have been far better than Franke playing NT when Javier was out...

Far better? Not really. He is only a "big loss" because people bought the same hype about the rest of the DL during the off-season.

The other two were far bigger losses (as was discussed when Julmisse was dismissed).

I know you don't think much of anybody on the DL, and I'm with you on that, but Franke was completely undersized and outclassed at NT. Umu would have been a definite upgrade in Javier's absence. Yes, Falo and Julmisse were bigger losses, but losing your only other 300 lber who can play NT was a loss, regardless whether you actually think he is all that good.

I think it would have made a huge difference having Umu at DE. Mulumba wasn't ready to play 75% of snaps and we had no depth. 2 mediocre guys splitting those reps would have made an impact by keeping the position fresh.

This is my take as well. I wouldn’t anoint Umu the next Conrad Obi or anything, but having a guy who could play 30 snaps a game would be helpful.

On principle, I don't think Julmisse should be allowed to come back. He screwed up big. These children need to learn to act like an adult, or experience the consequences until they do. ....assuming he is guilty of the third degree assault, domestic violence, harassment, and subsequent robbery charges of course. Which, come on....he got arrested AGAIN for robbery while suspended.

Regarding his actual contribution to the team, I know he was supposed to be awesome, but he never impressed me with his kick returns, and I remember him making some pretty sizable mistakes, although I can't recall specifics. Which is to say, it's not like he's Jabrill Peppers.

So next year we are going to be stocked with mediocre DL players if Umu makes it back?
