Final play of the game today from the stadium

Final play of the game today:

I have been browsing reddit.com/r/cfb today, which is the major hub of college football discussion on the internet. Everyone, from Michigan fans to Oregon fans to Auburn fans, and any team you could imagine is amazed at the loyalty of the CU fanbase. To have this kind of crowd show up for an 0-5 team? I have been feeling the mood shift among the fanbase recently, it's time to keep the pressure on and force this administration to invest in football.

Great video. Photographer was apparently on field, S endzone, and it captured how great - and loud - the crowd was. I think they probably helped a lot.
Almost everyone, not just students, wore white. Compare it to the last time nu was here and the stadium was 60% red.
Great to see the support..

That's just amazing.

I remember rushing the field (and throwing oranges at Dr Tom's thugs in 1989) and there's nothing like that outside of college sports. 40,000 of my closest friends and I dancing on the field with the players, the coaches, and parading the goal posts down to Pearl Street rank among my fondest memories of my time at Dear Old CU.

The fans care, and will support the team, but the administration has to get this thing fixed, and in a hurry. There's no reason why CU can't have nice things, and I'm happy to see that Saliman appears to "get it" but I'm still waiting for him to prove it.

1989 video for those who may not have been there...

Meanwhile, the largest crowd to watch a top 10 UCLA team this year was at CU in Folsom. And they hosted #11 Utah this week.

I’ve rushed 3 times in my fandom:
2001 62-36 (as a student)
2016 Utah to win the South
2019 OT win over Nebraska with +20,000 sad nub fans in attendance

The latter 2 were with the wife and kids which were special moments for all of us.
I was with you in 2019 too. That was magic, after those ****ing mouth-breathers bragged about taking over our stadium and (at least those in my section) were total assholes. I'm glad there was a whole bunch of huskers were there to feel the pain.

2016 v Utah
2019 v Nubs
2021 v Ariz bball
Saturday v Cal
All with my kids - one now a student. Great times but I would have never rushed the field as a student in the early 90’s for a win over Cal I must admit.

2001 v Nebraska (I was 7 at that time)
2007 v Oklahoma
2011?- Texas bball
Revenge for Sab U of A
2021- Ariz bball
2019 v Nubs
2016- WSU
2016- Utah
2010?- Georgia
2008- West Virginia

Pretty sure I've been at every game (except this last one) that we've stormed the field or court in the past 20 years. Those memories are what keeps me going and what makes college sports special.

2007 vs OK. My son was 6 and far more interested in snacks and seeing his cousins who were students at the time. So we watched it from outside the scrum.

If I tried rushing the field I’d break a hip jumping down to the field. Do they have a handicap ramp one can use?

What about booker's buzzer beater v. Kansas? I stormed for that Texas game too, I think that was their tj Ford team.

I was at that one. I remember rushing the field. The rest of the night, not so much

I have to say... I am not a big fan of rushing the field because everyone does it now. The inevitable result of students rushing the field becomes that every student fan base is going to want to do it, so eventually every school will do it (and then the reaction is the SEC penalizing the school that does it).

With that said, I have reserved my rushing the field for only 2 games in my entire CU career:

1994 Colorado @ Michigan-- Yes you are fu$%ing right I rushed the MICHIGAN FIELD.
2001 Neb*%$ka @ Colorado- DAMN RIGHT I DID!

1994 Iowa State @ Colorado- I did not rush the field- just wanted to watch the "Carrying Off of Salaam" from the front row student GA section.
1995 Texas A & M @ Colorado- I did NOT rush the field, I watched the students get tear gassed from the comfort of the front row in the GA section.

My favorite rushing the field story was the 1986 win over the Nubs. It was bedlam on the field. I thought a couple of guys were dead when the goalpost they were hanging on finally collapsed on top of them as their backs hit the turf. I guess their extreme inebriation saved them. It was great to see at least one of the uprights making its way to the hill, past all of the red polyester - clad blue hairs slinking their way back to BF Omaha.

They actually changed the mechanics of the goalposts after that incident to take them down as students rush the field from a single bolt and then also break apart much easier as students try to claim their piece to carry out.

I know you’re being snarky, but the urban legend about that game keeps growing. The stadium was maybe 25% Nebraska fans. The red stood out against the black, so it looked a lot worse than it was. And if we are honest, 25% is still a huge number.

It really felt like it was 50/50. It sucked.
