Folsom Field gets a lofty ranking

this is similar to a list @DBT linked recently.

they give no criteria for how they rank and the individual entries give little, in most cases no, indication why a particular stadium is ranked where it is.

Clemson as the top college stadium? come on. I've been there for a game. it's nice. there are better game day experiences. Cameron Indoor ranked in low teens?!?!? there's a bias toward baseball stadiums there for sure.

And yet Yankee Stadium is nowhere to be found. Citi Field is OK, but Yankee Stadium is special. I was shocked it didn’t make that list.

Yankee Stadium sucks. It’s like a giant mausoleum. I’ve been to old Yankee Stadium and new Yankee Stadium. I don’t know what the architects were thinking when they designed new Yankee Stadium.

Bite your blasphemous tongue.

I’ve been to both as well. I love the new stadium. The plaza out front is great. The hall with all the banners with the pictures of Yankee greats is cool. It’s a reasonably easy stadium to navigate. You know you’re in a big league ballpark when you’re in Yankee Stadium.

I was waiting for a hearse followed by black limo’s.

My biggest issue with Yankee Stadium is the neighborhood. The location really should be great. It should be yuppie central there. There’s a subway line that runs right into Manhattan there. I think the stigma of being in the South Bronx remains a problem there, unfortunately. I could see that area really improving over the next 20 years as Manhattan fills up all the way to the Harlem River.

Old Yankee Stadium had to be a cool place to catch a game. Think about all the history and the ballers in that place, it's quite a list of greats.

Dumb to try to rank all of the different stadiums in one list, imo.

People are going to disagree simply due which sport they like best. Obviously this dude likes baseball and baseball stadiums more than say a huge basketball fan.

Having said that, it was a weird mix of old and new there, with no single, cohesive line of thinking either way. I get Wrigley and Fenway, but PNC Park? Lambeau, but Century Link Field?
