Former Buff Leon White Given 2 years to live

I met him several years ago when he was a customer of my bank at the time. He got a bunch of us tickets to go see him at the Denver Coliseum when he was with WCW. This was when he was a definite "heel", but he had a loud group of fans cheering him on.

I remember once he was doing a show in Omaha and he comes out in a CU sweatshirt. Awesome.

i'm sorry to read this I got to play against Leon in the spring games back when alumni played. I'll never forget the spring of my freshman year he lined up at defense of tackle right over me. I fired out, it was like hitting a wall. He didn't make the tackle on any of the plays he was in but I could move him. he was a massive mountain of a man. And a pretty nice guy for when I get to see.

Always heard that he was a great guy outside of the ring.

Not a lifestyle that is conducive to reaching old age. Lots of bad food from restaurants compounded by eating large quantities to maintain size.

Most of the wrestlers battled injuries and thus used a lot of painkillers, PEDs common to keep the bulk on, and don't know if Leon did it but a lot of the wrestlers partied hard on the road as well.

Sad to see though. Wish him the best.

He's had a tough life since leaving the ring. Hope he finds peace soon, if he hasn't already.

Gotta tell a Leon story here. I think it was 95 or 96. We were at La Estrelita or some such place with tacos and alcohol at a semi-official "team" function and I left my wife with another couple and went to the rest room. When I got back, there was Leon snuggled up next to my wife. I looked at my wife and basically said, you are on your own honey! : ) Anyway, Leon looks up and says Scud, is this your wife? I said yes it is sir! He moved over the other side of the table and we drank! Very kind man to fellow Buffs but he lived a hard and fast life and I am sure the extra pounds eventually caught up to his joints and his heart. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

Piggybacking off the spring game stories. I think it was '85,he was on the alumni squad,I was in 3rd grade w/a cast on my leg recovering from a broken tibia. Hanging around close to the sideline he sees me sitting w/my leg elevated while all the other kids were running around having fun. He whistles at me,asks my name and if he could sign my cast. My mom scrambled to find a pen in her purse while he climbed into the stands, autographed my cast: Leon"Baby Bull" White. My first autograph ever,I insisted on keeping that cast after it was cutoff, but my mom finally convinced me to throw it out cause it was disgusting. Bless you Baby Bull.
