Couple of questions...

How difficult do you expect tickets to be had through the CU AD? Never had a problem, but that was FSU, Miami, UGA.

How do you think the Buffs will fare? New staff gives me some hope, plus they have the suspensions...could the Buffs add another brick to the wall?

Finally, do they serve beer at the stadium and what's the tailgating scene like?

If you join the buff club (for about $100), you get first chance at away game tickets.

I say "about $100" because the exact amount isn't showing on the website, so it's possible they are changing it. Anyway, you make the minimum donation and get first chance at all away game tickets before they go on sale to the rest of the world.

You'd have a good chance of getting the OSU tix if you donate, IMO. It's an 80 % tax-deductible donation.

Note: the Buffclub "year" is July 1 to June 30 so if you donate now, it won't help you with 2011 football tix.
You can donate twice, or you may want to wait until July to donate, so you are active during the season.

it's annoying i have to call someone to join the buff club.... why can't i do that online?

If the suspensions hold up, I think we stand a chance. No doubt we will be jazzed for the game and they will show us little respect. If our schedule lines up right, we could have some winning momentum going into the game. Having said all that, i wouldn't bet against TOSU in the shoe.

I've heard tha tOSU does not cough up a lot of tickets for visiting fans, so I'd say that even going through CU is going to be difficult. This is going to be a premiere game to travel to this year & there's going to be a lot of big time alums from that area of the country calling in favors since it's not often the Buffs make it to the Big 10/1 states.

Nevertheless, the best chance is if you donate to the Buff Club as someone stated above. Good luck!

It may also help to know someone who is a Buff Club member and have them pre-order your tickets. My MIL gets us ours.

I've got cousins at Ohio State. They could just being arrogant pricks as usual, but they say that tickets should not be hard to come by before the game through scalpers. Granted, they won't be in the CU section, but at least it'll get you in the door.

I heard that OSU only allots 5k tickets for the visiting team, so the visitor section is tiny and really difficult to get into. But when the stadium can fit over 100k, you can always find a seat if you're motivated.

Also, some of the visitor seating at the Shoe is somewhat obstructed by the giant flagpole that sits right behind the endzone in the fully closed end of the stadium...

Yep I went around 5 years ago. Best rollercoasters in America and TONS of hotties. This cannot be understated.

Cedar Point is tha bomb. Probably the best pure amusement park in America. It's also a solid 2.5 hour drive to Columbus. I don't even know if it would still be open that late in September. I'd check before you make any plans.

Are you saying there's an amusement park that exists in this world that is not only filled with morbidly obese people in spandex pants and redneck t-shirts? I need to get out of this state and see the world...

(Cedar Point was cool when i was a kid - but i was more into the rides than the hotties then)

Thanks all for the advice. I donate to CU in other capacities already, but will join the Buff Club as well. I'm still on the fence on this one. My sister-in laws parents are both professors at OSU so I know I can get tickets, but sitting with other CU fans is really the most enjoyable part for me. If I'm gonna sit with a bunch of Buckeyes without the pleasures of beer, I might pass.

I hope CU will not forget it's east coast fan base and will schedule a game on this side of the country every other year or so.

This does not track with prior threads trashing the girls in the Big Ten.

I would think most college stadiums these days don't serve beer. One really needs to ask how easy it is to get a flask into the stadium. Sooooo, here it is a cinch at Folsom, very difficult at Invesco.

We used to go to Cedar Point 5-6 times every summer. Growing up in ohio, not many cool places to go but it's one of the best if not the best park of rollercoasters. Kings Island has some good ones too. It's 3 hours from columbus though...
