In a lot of ways, it was the Alec and Levi show.

But Roberson came up HUGE, too: 9 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocked shots.

He's gonna be a special player for us.

Also, I think Austin Dufault needs some honorable mention here. 9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 assist and 2 blocked shots.

Roberson is going to be a rebounding force for us for a long time. Love it.
 
anybody else recognize the possibility that if we win out, KSU loses to UT Wed, and Mizzou loses to NU we would be looking at a #4 seed in conference tourney?? That would be ridiculous. I know thats getting ahead of things but man the way they fought today was impressive. Such a good win. Great atmosphere. Great day to be a buff

I was just looking at that too but the downside is that our first game in the quarters after the bye would be a tough one. It might look better if we could get a first round win even if was against ISU or TT. Either way it would be great to win in the quarters and finally make the Big 12 semi's on our way out the door.

don't forget about that clutch tip-in from in front of the rim late in H2; huge play when we really needed it...

...and roberson is a stud, no doubt about it...
 
Roberson was a monster. I want to know what Tad said to Burks at halftime, because as good as he was in the second half (FTs aside), he was that bad in the first half. That 2nd half was an all around incredible team effort. Without a doubt the most exciting game I've ever been to in the Keg.

BTW, that turkish guy for Texas is the biggest thug of an eastern european player I've ever seen. Since my seats are right behind the visitor bench, I made sure he knew about it too. Total Hack thug.
 
The guy who was sitting courtside and got tossed out of the game for talking **** to the refs should get a game ball, we miraculously got like 4 calls in a row in our favor after that.

Wonder what he said? Gotta be pretty bad to get thrown out. I got one good ref jibe in during a quiet moment. They sucked.

Idk i think the ref just got tired of him cause he was on him all fricken day. But the ref deserved it. they did suck.

We sit right behind him, and I have no idea what he said. It wasnt that loud at that time, and I didnt hear anything, he is normally yelling, and there is no question what he says. First time I have ever saw that, but it was pretty cool.

If Roberson develops a post game and/or a jump shot he will be special. Otherwise he will just be a guy who rebounds and plays defense (not that there's anything wrong with that). If he can just put on some weight, he will become even more effective around the basket.

So the story of him getting kicked out:
He was basically giving the ref's crap all game (nothing all that bad, just stuff like "when are you going to make a call in our favor" type stuff), then the ref turned to him and said, you stand up one more time and I am kicking you out. The guy said, while sitting "I am sitting down". Ref blew wistle, and had him kicked out. Pretty lame to kick out a fan for something like that. I know he yells all the time, and is a big guy, but come on, he doesnt yell nasty things, you can just hear him because he is close.

Funny part about it is, he actually had other tickets as well (I know, seriously, had 2 tickets to a sold out game?) so he walked out, went around to the other side of Coors, and went to sit in his other seats (behind the CU bench).
 
Oh yea, and Roberson, he is really starting to become a special player IMO. His offensive skills are starting to develop, still a freshman, but when he is a junior/senior I see him as a 15-20 ppg, on top of 10+ boards. It will be pretty sweet having someone average a double-double on the team
 
Last nights game made very optimistic about Roberson. He had a lot of easy looks, but everything he shot went in. Still needs to develop but he has the potential to be a legit offensive threat.

was this the first time you saw him all season? The guy almost averaged a double double during the big 12 tourney. As a freshman. I just hope he starts getting calls go his way because the refs are pretty tough on him right now.

His offensive game has looked very raw. Almost all of his points have come when he is fed the ball right under the basket or on tip ins. He really has no post game and can only hit outside shots when he is left completley alone and has time to set his feet. But last night gave me some hope. He made some nice plays. He was also looking for his shot a lot more which is nice to see.

A lot of the ref's being tough on him is his ability to sell his defensive position. There are many times he gets a foul for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This is something that I have seen him improve a lot on throughout the year. He will learn how to put himself in a position where he can still make the defensive stops and charges, but not get called for nonsence fouls. This is just going to take time.

Just think of how many times early in the year he got a foul called on him with his back to the play, or by just standing tall with his hands in the air. The other teams have learned that they can go after him, and either get a foul called on him, or they get completly abused. The amount of abuse will get higher.
 
Whenever I see replays like this it just pisses me off that these guys weren't given the chance to showcase their talents in the Dance.

Am I tripping to think that Roberson is a future high draft pick? I know he's really raw, but sometimes his athleticism is spectacular, and he plays much taller than he is. I guess it's hard to get much visibility with Burks & Higgins.

I think Roberson is one of those great finds. I agree he will likely go as a possible first round NBA pick, but more importantly he will do that after 4 years. With at least the last 2, maybe 3 (hopefuly) as being a dominate player. That is how you build great programs, with great players that are there for a long time.
 
does anyone know where I can score a Dre jersey? All I can find are Burks and Higgins.
 
They only sell one new number a year so youll have to cross your fingers for next year
