Lost in all of the hoopla this week is the fact that the women's team return to the court tomorrow night as they host Western State in an exhibition game. Tipoff is at 7 pm and, if I'm reading correctly, is available on the Pac-12 Networks online.

Who's going?

So this is the exhibition and next Sunday is Idaho for the season opener?

I will be there in spirit. Haven't looked, but assume there won't be live stats so I'm hoping somebody tweets about it. Volleyball is on Pac 12 Network at 9 my time and will mostly likely get swept.

You follow Brian Howell from the Camera right? Im sure he will be tweeting some updates form the game, he does a great job of that for the other women's sports he covers.

Yes I follow Howell and he does a great job. What is Chucky thinking? Tweet from Brian Howell

#CUBuffs star PG Chucky Jeffery is not playing because of conduct detrimental to the team. Not sure if she'll see the floor at all tonight

I hate to say this but MPP went 0 for from 3 point land. Doesn't bode well for the season, imo. She did hit inside, but nothing outside. Makes it tough to open up the inside game against better competition.

Brittany Wilson put on a show tonight. Excellent game for her.

Hargis is much stronger and was able to finish the layups. Now to see if she can do it against real competition.

Very impressed with both Ky Weston and Jamee Swan. Lauren Huggins did not play. Howell sent me a tweet that Coach Lappe says Huggins is not yet meeting fitness expectations. Welcome to Division I, Lauren.

Buffs won by a blowout, which is what is supposed to happen in exhibition games.

Freshmen Roberson, Weston and Swan combined for 25 pts, 15 rebs and only 3 turnovers in 61 minutes for the #CUBuffs WBB team (from Brian Howell)

Ky Weston looking good in her debut for the #CUBuffs. 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting (from Brian Howell)

CU wins big, but WSC is down this season after loosing their head coach and key players. Also, no Chucky due to conduct detrimental to the team? That's not a good way to start out your senior season.

That was pretty much my response to Howell. I actually said it wasn't a very smart way to start her senior season.

Complete domination which is what you should expect against a team like this. And they did it without their best player!

A lot of minutes for everyone. Ky looking really good!

Chucky told one of my friends that she didn't play because she hurt her knee.

I read the tweet from Howell to her and we had a good laugh.

Dang, can't believe how much i've missed BASKETBALL. It was nice watching the girls play. I wish i could be there, but watching it live, was something else. I was so proud of Kyleesha and the rest of the girls.

I hate when they say stuff like "Conduct detrimental to the team" I guess my mind wonders and normally think they did something way worse than what actually happened.

I also really enjoyed watching Kyleesha play in the exhibition game. Particularly like how she pushes the ball up the court and how she played on the fast break. Also hope you are doing well.

Thanks i apprecite you saying that. She was so excited for the game all day long. I watched it live, and she made me proud. But i told her, its not a one and done thing. There's a whole season, so i expect that from her and all the girls consistantly.

She loves to run, so they need to watch out, she'll be up the court in a second. :) Easy 2, all day long.

And thanks, I am doing well. Still a little sore, but that is to be expected. :) Thanks for thinking of me.

I've definitely been thinking about how you are doing. I'm hoping games are archived online as I can't watch Sunday's game live.

You could see Kyleesha was ready to play. She's quick, athletic and eager. She's going to do very well in Lappe's system in my estimation. Be proud of her, mom. She's doing great.

Per Coach Lappe this morning, Chucky did hurt her knee. She had a wrap of some sort on her left leg during the exhibition. But Coach also made the "conduct detremental" statement so I think we have 2 factors at play here. Also likely will not see Chucky playing in the season opener on Sunday.

Other random comments from this morning ....
Lauren Huggins still has not met all the criteria needed to see the court, mainly a strength/stamina situation.
European trip postponed until next summer partly because of the size of the 2013 freshman class and partly because of the number of players who were not 100%healthy this past summer.
Coach Chatterton now working with the post players....a group that includes Hargis, Reese, Swan, and Roberson. Hargis' primary role is rebounding and defense, offense is a plus. Reese is a throwback player and still likes to play physical and take charges. Roberson and Swan both very athletic and good rebounders, good timing on shot blocks. Swan has hops and can reach the rim.
What we saw from Kyleesha on Friday...the attitude of looking to run on the break and push the ball up the court.... is her standard mo.
Idaho is a good team, not a cupcake game. This years non-conf schedule will do a better job of preparing the Buffs for PAC 12 play.
Coach Lappe thinks Stanford is beatable this year (they are the Buffs first conference game and it is in Boulder).
New marketing guy has really been doing some good things.
Also a new person in charge of tickets to try to get that mess (my word, not how coach said it) fixed.

Thanks for the update, BeBe. Those are the things I really miss.

Hope Chucky gets the conduct situation straightened out as well as her knee. We do need her and her athleticism.

Brian Howell had tweeted the information to me on Lauren Huggins not yet meeting conditioning expectations.

I noticed Jen took her protective glasses off when she shot free throws.

Glad schedule is not full of cupcakes. I won't be watching the Idaho game live as I will be out of town. Hoping the Pac 12 online site archives games so I can watch it when I return on Tuesday.

I'm really hoping Stanford is beatable in Boulder because I'm flying out for the game.
