The Buff Women's bball team is in L.A. to face off against the Trojans later today in a Monday matinee. (They were also scheduled to face off against UCLA this past Friday, but that game was postponed.)

Note - I can't remember (although as always I like to point out my memory is NOT good) this being available in prior years, but it looks like women's bball does have NET rankings this season. As I type this, https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-women/d1/ncaa-womens-basketball-net-rankings shows the Buffs at #72 and the Trojans #65.

Go Buffs!!!

LOS ANGELES – To say Colorado freshman Frida Formann has had a wild journey to start her collegiate career might be an understatement. The first-year guard from Denmark did not know if she would be able to get to Boulder for the start of the season, now she has become a fixture in the starting lineup for the Buffaloes.
...

Formann and the Buffaloes will get back on the court again on Monday. The team was set to play Friday at No. 9 UCLA but got word of the game's postponement before leaving for Los Angeles. The game against USC was originally set for Sunday but was moved to Monday.

Colorado (4-5, 2-4 Pac-12) has dropped its last two to the Trojans, playing back-to-back games last year to end the season. CU's last win against the Trojans came last year in Boulder (66-53, Jan. 10). Sherrod scored 10 points and had seven assists in the win.

Southern California (4-5, 2-5 Pac-12) held off Utah 60-59 on Friday. Three players scored in double figures led by Ednya Rogers (17) and Jordan Sanders (14). Sanders enters the game as one of the nation's top 3-point threats. She's ninth in the NCAA hitting 57.1 percent from 3-point range this season.

Monday's game is set for a 1 p.m. MT start. The game will be called by Anne Marie Anderson and Tammy Blackburn on the Pac-12 Networks. Cory Lopez and Carol Callan will have the call across the Colorado Radio Network (CUBuffs.com/Listen).

This was a must win for any post season hopes, it’s going to be a long couple months I fear. Anyone know what’s wrong with Sherrod? I’m assuming she’s playing injured or is it something else? She’s no where near where she was as a freshman

Make free throws and defend the three and they might win a game. Yep, it's going to be a very long season.

I don't know what's going on with Sherrod, but I also assume she is injured. One leg is heavily wrapped but that is all I know.

Looking at the stats, the game was close in most categories except free throws. The weird or maybe sad thing was CU shot 11 more free throws than USC.

On a note thinking about next year, if I understand things correctly, Hollingshed and Jank would be eligible to play next year as I believe the NCCA granted a do over for one year. But I think each university has to make that decision. (On that note and certainly a whine on my part, Jank got 00.03 time on the court against USC.) I wonder how this fits into the team's plans, assuming I am correct?

Finally, I watched a couple videos that CU shows on the players and coaches and I was surprised that the process for testing for COVID is sort of all over the place and done differently at each campus. I give the players credit for playing under these circumstances.
