Women's bball (13-1, 2-1 in Pac 12 play) is scheduled to have a makeup game tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 PM MT as they face off against the Oregon State Beavers (7-4, 0-1) in Corvallis, followed by their annual desert road trip next weekend. There, they are scheduled to face ASU (8-5, 0-0) Friday at 5:00 PM MT, then #7*** Arizona (12-2, 2-2) Sunday at noon MT.
(***As I type this Sunday they are #7, but assume they may go down a little in tomorrow's polls as they suffered a tough 2 point loss yesterday (Saturday) to the unranked Ducks in Eugene.)

The OSU game is scheduled to be viewable on a free live OSU provided stream, while both games against the Arizona schools are scheduled to be on one or the other Pac 12 Network channels. (See near the bottom of this post for links and more info.)

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 22 Colorado Buffaloes open the first of what is now two four-game road trips, traveling to Oregon State on Monday. The game was rescheduled from the original Dec. 31 date.

Colorado (13-1, 2-1 Pac-12) will be eager to get back to action after suffering its first loss of the season on Friday. The Buffs came out hard against No. 2 Stanford and led by as many as 11 in the first quarter, but couldn't maintain the scorching start.

"I told the team I didn't expect us to go 35-0 this year," head coach JR Payne said after the loss. "Honestly, at some point, we were going to lose a game. Stanford is one of the best teams in America, not just this year but every year."

The rescheduled game offers CU a chance to get right back on the court. The Buffs originally had California on the docket for Sunday, but COVID issues prevented the Bears from traveling. OSU, who has only played once since Dec. 19, had its weekend finale against ASU postponed, allowing for the Pac-12 to announce Monday's game late last week.
...

Friday's ruckus crowd of 3,744 at the CU Events Center was the largest for a CU women's game since 2018. The support from Buff Nation didn't go unnoticed with senior Peanut Tuitele calling the atmosphere "ecstatic."

Now the Buffs have to prepare to play away from home for its next four games, making trips to Arizona State, Arizona and Utah before the next home date against Utah on Jan. 30. CU hasn't been on the road since Dec. 7, when it traveled to Southern Utah.

"We just need to make sure we have a lot of focus," Finau added. "Going on the road can be tiring sometimes. We just have to take this time and really focus."

The Buffs are no stranger to chaotic schedules. Earlier this season, CU played five games in 10 days – including a pair of back-to-back contests. For the Buffs, three games in seven days is just business as usual.

"The fact that we've already had to go through a short window with a lot of games and had success [5-0] through the adversity is a great bonus for us," Payne explained. "I think the fact that we are a veteran ballclub helps give us the confidence to get through a stretch like this."

The Buffs will hit the court at Gill Coliseum for a 3 p.m. MT start. The game will be streamed online at CUBuffs.com/WatchWBB. Cory Lopez will have the call on the Colorado Radio Network and 630 KHOW locally, starting at 2:30 p.m. MT.

Buffs down 27-25 at the half. They are fine on defense but really struggle in their half court offense. If Miller isn't creative they don't get points. This was a problem in the Stanford game as well.

Refs looked to have missed a moving screen at the buzzer of the second quarter when OSU hit a trey.

Hollingshed had to sit for a good portion of the second quarter with here second foul.

Buffs lose in OT, 69-66 giving up a wide open trey with about 10 seconds left and then looking meek on the ensuing possession which resulted on a missed by Sherrod.

Being the first of four consecutive away games this puts the Buffs in the position of having to get at least one win next weekend in Arizona.

Like the last few games, CU was intimidated at the basket and had something like 11 shots blocked and several others altered.

It wouldn't have mattered in the end, but the officials missed a technical foul on Oregon State for having 6 players on the floor.

I can't remember the last time a CU team was good at defending the 3.

TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 22 Colorado Buffaloes look to get back to its winning ways this week, starting at Arizona State on Friday (5 p.m. MT).

The Buffs, who started the season a perfect 13-0, have dropped its last two to No. 2 Stanford and at Oregon State in overtime. Monday's game at OSU was a rescheduled date that puts the Buffs in line to play a rare three-game Pac-12 schedule in the same week.

"The team had Tuesday off, but I never take a day off," head coach JR Payne explained. "I was at work all day, working on the highs and lows from Oregon State and looking at Arizona State. There were a lot of both- more lows I think. The biggest thing was just having better discipline in what we're doing. There were things we work on every day in practice that wasn't necessarily done consistently and that ended up hurting us."

Colorado has led for the majority of the previous two games, only trailing in 25 total minutes. The Buffs trailed at the half (25-27) and the end of the third quarter (44-47) at Oregon State for the first time this season. CU's two losses have only been by a combined 11 points.

"Like I said, we as coaches never take a day off," Payne continued. "We have work to do. We make sure we're in the office getting organized, figuring out what we didn't do well as coaches? What didn't we do well as players? To make sure the next time we're in that situation, which we certainly will be, we are more prepared."
...

Arizona State (8-5, 0-0 Pac-12) has been chomping at the bit to get back on the court. The Sun Devils have yet to play a Pac-12 contest and haven't played at all since scheduling Lipscomb on Dec. 30. ASU has had its last six dates postponed.

The Sun Devils have had the upper hand in the series, winning the past 13 meetings. The two teams only met once last year in Tempe, having the second meeting in Boulder canceled. CU's last win came on Feb. 17, 2013 (71-63) in Tempe.

The Buffs will continue down the road to Tucson on Sunday, taking on No. 10 Arizona. The Buffs and Wildcats also only played once last season in Boulder, resulting in a 62-59 loss.

The Pac-12 Network's Cindy Brunson and Joan Bonvicini will call Friday's game. Cory Lopez and former Buff Shelley Sheetz will have the call on the Colorado Radio Network and 630 KHOW locally, starting at 4:30 p.m. MT.
"

I will definitely be syncing the radio feed with Cory and Shelley to this game. Joan Bonvicini was a great coach but she is not good on commentary.

Sherrod's hip was bothering her in the Oregon State game and it showed in her play. The hip has had more time to heal so I hope she can play her style of ball tonight. She gave it all she had against the Beavers, but she hadn't been practicing. Don't know if she has practiced since the game.

Buffs can't get the lid off their basket (they're 2-13 from the field), leading to an 8-13 score after 1.

The Buffs come back to take the narrow 23-22 lead at the half.

The change in this one was when the Buffs, after getting burned by a few backdoor cuts, went to a harrassing (high pressure up top) zone, which has lead to them getting a boatload (10 total for the half) steals. (Believe the Buffs at one point earned 4 or 5 steals in a row, most by Wetta.)

Both teams having bad turnover issues, with CU having 13 of their own vs.15 total for asu.

Looks like it may be a nail biter til the end- it's 34-36 asu heading into the final quarter.

It's going overtime, as the Buffs overcome a 6+ minute scoring draught at the beginning of the 4th quarter and ride their defensive pressure to force a 5th period; it's tied at 46.

Horrible travel call. If it's a whistle, it's a trip. But she didn't take a 3rd step or fall down before passing. WTF?

Too many turnovers, can't guard the 3, can't put the ball in the basket and can't shoot free throws. Wetta was the only bright spot.

At times, they played like they were in junior high.

Sherrod took a hard fall near the end of the Stanford game. That's when she injured her hip.

Last night, Sherrod tried to put the entire game on her back near the end. She was trying too hard and playing selfishly, imo.

Part of it is because our non-conference season didn't really challenge the team so they don't learn how to play against Pac-12 level teams.

This has been happening under every coach going back to KMM.

Does she have a hip pointer by chance? Had it before, that **** is not fun.
