Women's basketball (2-0) is back on the road for 2 before they play LOTS of home games. (After these 2, 7 of the next 8 are at the CUEC). 1st off is a matinee tomorrow against the Boise State Broncos (BSU; 1-0), followed up by a Tuesday night game with the Nevada- Reno Wolf Pack (Nevada; ).

Of course, it's probably totally worthless given changes, but in what looks like the final NET rankings (dated 4/7/24) for last season, CU ended at #15, BSU #139 and Nevada #200.

Looks like both games are slotted to be on a Mountain West Network stream. (Further info and links for media options available near the bottom of this post.)

Go Buffs!!!

Buffs Back on the Road: Five Things to Know

Colorado takes on Boise State on Sunday

By: Seth Pringle, Athletic Communications

BOISE –
Colorado takes to the road again this weekend, following its brief stop at the CU Events Center, traveling the Gem State to take on Boise State on Sunday (2 p.m. MT)

Colorado improved to 2-0 last week with an 81-66 win over Northern Colorado in its home opener. The Buffs had three players in double figures, led by junior transfer Jade Masogayo's 19 points. CU shot 66.7% in the opening quarter and outscored the Bears 38-22 in the paint.

Boise State (1-0) opened its season with an 87-57 win over Eastern Oregon. Natalie Pasco, a Preseason All-Mountain West Conference selection, posted 12 points. The Broncos have been off since the opening-night win.

Five Things to Know
  1. Wetta Performance – Senior Kindyll Wetta handed out a career-high 10 assists against Northern Colorado. It was her first career double-figure assist game. She ranks 3rd in the NCAA and leads the Big 12 with 15 assists in two games this season. She is tied for 12th in program history with 344 career assists.
  2. Now Boarding – Sara-Rose Smith is third in the Big 12 with 18 rebounds. She had 11 boards to open the season at Wyoming. All of her rebounds have come off the bench.
  3. All-time vs. BSU – Sunday will be just the second meeting between Colorado and Boise State. The Buffs won 71-48 in the team's first meeting on Dec. 4, 2022. Both meetings have been at XtraMile Arena in Boise.
  4. Quick Turnaround(s) – Sunday's game will be the second of three in six days for the Buffs. CU will travel to Lake Tahoe to take on Nevada (Nov. 12).
  5. Wooden Watch List – Graduate Frida Formann was added to the Wooden Award Top 50 Preseason Watch List on Thursday. She's CU's all-time 3-point leader (men or women) with 260. Formann hit 82 3s last season to tie the program's single-season record.
The game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network and at CUBuffs.com/WatchWBB

Cory Lopez and Carol Callan will have pregame coverage starting 30 minutes before tip-off on the Colorado Radio Network.

Up Next: vs Nevada in Lake Tahoe (8 p.m. MT)

First half: 0 for 8 on 3 point shots and we only went to the line once. It was Wetta and she swished it. Way too many turnovers.

After the game, they fly to Sacramento and then bus to Tahoe. Not a fun evening in store for the team.

Buffs lose to Boise State 47-50. Will not win many games going 0-17 for 3 and only scoring 47 points. Boise State is not the quality of team we will play in the Big 12

What I watched today is a team that will not do well in the Big 12. Boise State was selected to finished 4th in their conference

Game day!

Colorado Closes Road Trip in Tahoe: Five Things to Know

CU takes on Nevada from Lake Tahoe

By: Seth Pringle, Athletic Communications

STATELINE, Nev. –
Colorado looks to bounce back from its first loss of the year when it returns to the court Tuesday night. The Buffaloes will matchup against Nevada in the first-ever Tahoe Tip Off at the Tahoe Blue Events Center (8 p.m. MT).

Colorado (2-1) is coming off a three-point loss to Boise State on Sunday. Jade Masogayo led the Buffs with 13 points and seven rebounds. Colorado had three more made baskets than BSU but only totaled 47 points. Defensively, the Buffs forced 15 takeaways and 25 total Boise State turnovers.

Nevada (1-1) took down Bushnell 70-48 last Friday. Kennedy Lee posted 17 points off the bench in the win. The Wolf Pack ranked second in the Mountain West, averaging 34.5 points off the bench.

Five Things to Know
  1. Vs. MWC – Tuesday is the third Mountain West opponent the Buffs will face in four games. Colorado is 1-1 against the conference with its opening-night win in Wyoming.
  2. Streak Snapped – Colorado had its 125-game streak with a made 3-pointer snapped at Boise State. The Buffs went 0-for-17 from behind the arc. CU has struggled from behind the 3-point line this season, hitting just 8-for-47 (.170).
  3. November Success – Colorado is 48-5 under head coach JR Payne in November. CU's loss at Boise State was its earliest in the year since losing game four of the 2022-23 season at Texas Tech.
  4. 50-59 – Colorado's loss at Boise State was just the eighth Payne when allowing opponents between 50-59 points.
  5. Vs. Nevada – Tuesday will be the fourth meeting between Colorado and Nevada. CU is 2-1 against the Wolf Pack, having won the last two games.

The game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network and at CUBuffs.com/WatchWBB

Cory Lopez and Carol Callan will have pregame coverage starting 30 minutes before tip-off on the Colorado Radio Network.

Up Next: Nov. 17, Southern (5 p.m. MT)

would like to see them shoot 40% from 3 and have better offensive flow. winning is second for tonights game

I did not watch the game, so checked the stat sheet afterwards- in the team comparison, it said that CU shot 0% from three and I thought that had to be a glitch. I clicked in and saw that they were 0-17, and lost by 3. If they had made two of those (a 0.118 shooting percentage), they likely win that game. Incredible.

yeah it was quite amazing. They need Frida back. In the games I saw, the youth and new players are still not in sync and getting better flow will get better shots

nice win. seem to play better and the flow was better. Definitely shot better. Still seem to have a ways to go.
