Gary Barnett to be on with Les Shapiro @ 2:30 today

I honestly don't know where Barnett lands on this. I don't get the feeling that he is as butt hurt as McCartney.

cant we hire gary back? 8-3, 7-5 look pretty good right now

If anyone thinks Barnett or any coach was going to win 7 games this year at CU, I have an island to sell you in Arizona.

Assuming that a coach with 7 wins in the past on a team with different players, is going to win 7 games this year at CU is an argument reductio ad absurdum.

I think Barnett was a solid coach and it was a mistake to turn his sexist statements into a witch hunt back in 2000's. Despite his strengths, he has demonstrated some real weaknesses--especially recruiting, utilizing talent, and associated issues. I think our future coach needs to be more sophisticated in his communication and personal skills to lead a football program in boulder. This culture is not like the Midwest or the south, and any prospective coach better "grok" that.

:wow:

GB made a solid living out of the chaos in major programs in the leagues his teams competed in. When the majors in the Big 10 recovered, all of a sudden NW goes 3-8. When the bigs in the Big 8/12 recover, GB sucks wind (but does benefit from a pi**-poor FG kicker at Iowa St for two years running!).

Still, ya gotta admire his timing, if not his coaching.
