I love me some GB and can't wait to hear him call games.

We will miss you Zim.

Maybe this is a stretch, but another good sign that feelings/thoughts have changed toward football within the administration.
Also a good sign that old wounds are healed. Welcome back Gary. Now just watch your mouth.

Excellent, RG clearly knows how to deal with the situation. You have a problem with the way I run the shop? I don't care.

I ran into GB about three years ago at a CU bball game. Just a couple of minutes exchanging pleasantries. As he moved out intot he crowd, I would say he was well received, practically mobbed. I think he'll be fine and I am happy for him. It seems like a small bite of vindication for him. I hope the haters stay up at night worrying about this for every night from here on out...

Good for Gary. In the late years he may not have fielded the best of teams, but they were light years better than anything we've seen since.
I've spoken to him a few times over the years. Seems like a good guy to me. And seems as though he very much cares about CU Football.

Ain't that the truth.

Does the University have control over this?
According to Coach Barnett, RG specifically asked him to do it. So it was by invite of the university.

He said he took two days to think about it, and then he took a tour of the facilities and said, "I have to be a part of this!"

Other favorite quotes from the luncheon:

Coach Bernardi: "The beautiful facilities are beautiful"

Coach Lindren: "Everybody wants to talk about Sefo and Nelson, but the unit I'm most excited about is the offensive line. We're going to go as far as they can take us."

Coach Tumpkin: "Jared Bell is now in his 40s, and he can still play every position in the defensive backfield!"

Would you said he's... "terrible"?
I'd say that if you played a drinking game in which you had to drink every time 1) Mark Johnson lets a play go without citing down and distance, and/or 2) Mark Johnson describes the type of snap (e.g. "chest-high snap"), you won't make it through the game.

Mark Johnson has had to deal with quite a few awful seasons now. His monumentally long diatribes describing a play used to be frustrating to me. But now I know he was just trying to make it sound like we were remotely competent. Trying to make that 0.5 yard gain sound as if it really had a chance to go for thirty.
