This stems from the parking lot incident in December down in Denver. He'll be off campus for the semester and really need to find a way to get some coursework down between now and next January or eligibility is going to be a major issue.

I'm rooting for him to get things turned around, but I have to say that it's not looking promising that we'll see Givens return and be eligible for his senior year in 2012. I think we should all cross our fingers, but we can't count on him.
 
It sounds like Bryce has some issues in the anger department.

I'm hoping he gets the support he needs and at least gets his degree.
 
He needs to worry a whole lot more about just getting his degree at this point.
 
He's defiantly got some kind of hostility built up. I believe he needs to get that addressed before he can get his focus on academics and football.

My understanding is no, he won't. He'll need to take some community college courses to try to stay on an eligibility track. He'll also need to work out somewhere other than campus.

That is extremely harsh. I get he commited an idiotic act, but let us not forget he is still young man, that should be counseled not kicked off campus. I believe this is his first offense, let the kid go to school.

Going to School at the collegiate level is a privilege. Other students (non-athletes) are treated the same way - he violated the code of conduct and now has to face the consequences of his actions. I think he is getting off easy. He did over $10,000 worth of damage and if the victim would of pressed charges he would be in bigger trouble. It is up to him to seek counseling not the schools responsibility.

I'm glad he is having to face the consequences of his actions, unlike at many other football schools. I hope he is able to use this as a growing experience in life, and hopefully even get it turned around for an opportunity to play football for Colorado again.
 
I bet he's sorry he de-committed from Nebraska. This kind of thing is not only tolerated in Lincoln, it's encouraged.

Doubtful...with the attitude & work ethic he's demonstrated here, he most likely would have either quit or got into a fist fight with the coach when Pelini decided to rip in 3 new assholes

How many times has he been in trouble/ineligible/out for a game for personal reasons? He needs to get it together mentally because he's out of chances. Might I remind you this is a recruit we stole away from other programs who have won a national championship during the lifetimes of the kids they are now recruiting. A huge get for us considering the track record of the previous regime. And all too commonly we've seen our best, out of high school potential become statistics of attrition. Givens always passed the eye test for a Division I tackle. It's a damn shame it hasn't translated to what it should in terms of contribution on Saturdays, and especially since he has had the opportunity to play football and earn a degree at the university. All the best, but come on, Bryce. Not a kid anymore. Pulling for ya.
