Just noticed the following was in the 1st cubuffs.com volleyball preview for the upcoming Sweet 16 match (from http://www.cubuffs.com/news/2017/12/5/volleyball-buffs-set-for-sweet-16-matchup-with-huskers.aspx), and wanted to make sure it was seen-

FUND SET FOR FORMER BUFF: Former Colorado player Amber Sutherland, who was severely injured in an auto accident in late November, is set to undergo surgery for a fractured disc in her neck Wednesday. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help support her medical bills: https://www.gofundme.com/sutherlands-family-time-in-need

I still remember Ms. Sutherland who, even though "only" 5'9"-5'10" tall (small (only?) by volleyball standards for a front-row player), was a go-to hitter for the Buffs a good part of her career. In the Buff's huge upset over Nebraska back in 2006 that ended up being the Huskers' only loss in their NCAA championship season, she led the Buffs in kills, and also played a part in the 2nd big upset over Nebraska in Boulder a couple seasons later. (Her Buff bio going into her senior year in 2008 - http://www.cubuffs.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4082)

Thoughts and prayers to her and her family. (From the GoFundMe page, sounds like her dad has also had significant health issues for awhile.)

I also remember when Amber played at CU. Yes, she was part of the team that beat Nebraska.

Did you see the photo of Amber in the third update? Hope she heals from her injuries.

I couldn't get the link in the below tweet to work for me, but looks like there's a further Buff-related funding effort which, at minimum (???), partly benefits Ms. Sutherland.

Forgot to post the below updated tweet when it was released last week.

Buffs4Life page with more info on Ms. Sutherland, and this year's Buffs4Life run which will, partially, help benefit her - http://www.buffs4life.org/events/6th-annual-kyle-macintosh-memorial-fun-run/

A little more on this run's past and present focus-

Over the past 4 years this run has raised close to $80K for Buffs families in need to offset medical bills. Over the past 10 years the Buffs4Life Foundation has raised over $750K for families in the Buff community and we remain steadfast in our mission that no Buff be left to fight alone. We strongly believe in our values and are grateful for such a giving community to be involved with. This year we are supporting CU Volleyball player, Amber Sutherland. Amber was in a serious car accident late 2017 and needs assistance in covering medical and living expenses on her road to recovery.
