ALBUQUERQUE — The University of Colorado men's golf team opened both rounds here strong Friday butn couldn't maintain its success through the end of either as the Buffaloes are tied for eighth after two rounds of New Mexico's William H. Tucker Intercollegiate. San Diego State takes a five-shot lead over host New Mexico into Saturday's final round, as the Aztecs turned in a 17-under score 559 for 36 holes on Friday. The Lobos closed to within five after recording the best single round of the day, a 14-under 274 in the second round to finish with a 563 tally.
