WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i — The University of Colorado men's golf team moved up three spots into 11th place here Friday after two rounds of the 29th annual Hawai'i-Hilo Amer Ari Invitational. The Buffaloes turned in a 4-under par 284 team score, ninth-best for the day in the 20-team field, to enter Saturday's final round with a 4-under 572 total. All six Buffaloes shot par or better, and CU is currently third in the standings of the six Pac-12 Conference teams competing here. No. 2 Georgia Tech broke a tie with No. 19 Texas by recording a 19-under 269 in the second round, the low score of the event, to take sole possession of first place with a 33-under 543 score. The Longhorns held on to second and are five strokes back at 548. No. 10 Arizona State (550) is in third, while top-ranked Pepperdine and No. 4 Texas Tech round out the top five with 555 scores to tie for fourth.
