BANDON, Ore. — The University of Colorado men’s golf team slipped a couple of notches from third to fifth here Monday, as the 5th Annual Bandon Dunes Championship concluded second round play.
Missouri, ranked No. 49 in the nation, added to its first round lead, as the Tigers again shot the best team score in the second round, an even-par 284, to finish 36 holes with 3-under 565 tally. Surprising Utah Valley (ranked No. 179) remained in second, but are now 13 strokes off the pace (578) after entering the day one stroke behind. UC-Davis moved into third (580), followed by No. 16 Washington (581) and then No. 48 Colorado, the defending tournament champion, at 582.
Light rain again fell for much of the round, and with winds out of the northwest off the Pacific Ocean at times gusting from 15-to-20 miles per hour combined with the temperature barely making it to 50 made things tougher for the players.
