It was an interesting comment from HCMM about players taking it upon themselves to want to re-run a play or drill to make sure everyone was doing it right. Instead of just trying to get through the practice. He saw it as turning a corner with focus & commitment.
May not translate to this Saturday, but it's important.
I know I started this thread in jest, but it is good to hear some actual specifics put to the usual generic (and worthless, as has been proven) phrase of "good practice"It was an interesting comment from HCMM about players taking it upon themselves to want to re-run a play or drill to make sure everyone was doing it right. Instead of just trying to get through the practice. He saw it as turning a corner with focus & commitment.

How is the petition to move our games to Tuesday coming along?
Poor MM doesn't realize we've heard all this BS before.

On the Importance of Having Momentum Going into a Big Conference Game
“I don’t know. I’ll tell you after the game. I thought we practiced really well today. I know I always say that but today was our best Tuesday practice all year. Maybe it was the sunlight. Maybe it was the game win. Maybe we were excited about the upcoming game and having a little more pep in their step. I thought we did some good things. We had kids stopping and asking us questions and making us re-do plays instead of just getting through practice, which are all things I look for that hadn’t really happened before. Those were some positive signs for me that we’re headed in the right direction. Hopefully it’ll show up better Saturday. It has a better chance to with us doing that and the kids doing that.”
We did hear this from Hawkins quite a bit but I don't remember Hawkins ever providing a explanation as to why he thought it was a good practice

Coachspeak or not, this is still a good thing. Here is the full quote. I think it is a fairly reasonable thing to say in context. Hawkins had us winning the MNC every Tuesday. MM seems to keep a realistic perspective on things despite it being the "best practice all year".

Just the media looking for anything to report on. I venture to say every coach in America has made this comment at least once a year.
No it's not, it's generic coach talk. Except with this comment, MacIntyre actually stated why he believed it was a great practice, something that Hawkins never did other than the lunch pails and that bull****.This is pure Hawk Talk. Are we due for another epic beatdown this w/e?
