i agree. but NCSU is a tough place....always 3rd or 4th in the state/conference in hoops in a hoops state/conference. worse in academics....Duke, Wake, UNC, Davidson is a very good albeit small school......in N. Carolina. so their vision of up doesn't have to be Colorado's imo. just saying. the ACC has UVA too.
NC State is not a bad school....but they are in rarefied places of their geography.
we ought to be setting the tone around here both academically and athletically. instead we seem to be falling back on the idea that the status quo and keeping the CU admins and bureaucracy paid, fat and happy is what the institution is all about. while faculty salaries are not competitive and the athletics tank, minus Tad Boyle so far.

Raleigh is just kind of "meh", they play in a bland arena that the Carolina Hurricanes use, and they're about 9th in the ACC academically. Not a whole lot of attraction, other than being the anti-Duke/Carolina, and having a strong basketball tradition 30 years ago. Gottfried is doing an impressive job, just not going to be overly shocked if they get slapped by the NCAA a few years down the road.
Debbie Yow was at Maryland for a long time and was a very polarizing figure. Gary Williams absolutely hated her. I mean despised her. Ralph Friedgen disliked her immensely too. Among many boosters, she was a killer to the revenue sports (i.e. men's basketball and football). However, if you want to win national championships in non-revenue female sports, then Debbie is your dream AD. Maryland won 20+ national titles during her tenure. Personally, I would place her dead last on my list if Bohn were to leave.
But with a powerhouse volleyball program we could compete against CSU
Yeah, the original point was not to imply that I wanted Debbie Yow to be our AD, it was that NCSU secured a winning coach within a relatively short intro period. I want our AD to secure Tad.
I have no opinion about Yow coming here to take Bohn's job.

For the record, Yow went to Elon and is a native of North Carolina, so basically she's not going anywhere. (and as someone who follows the ACC closely, I personally wouldn't want her. Her situation got messy at Maryland.)
