This sums up my thoughts too. I was a big Embree fan and don't hate him, how could I? But he is not the man for the job.

CU football is not just completely uninteresting - it makes me angry to think about it. There is no longer the anticipation of winning and celebrating. There is no longer the excitement of playing an opponent competitively. There is no longer the expectation of enjoying good football and seeing young players blossom before our eyes. There is only the grim realization that CU will fall behind by many, many touchdowns very early in each game, then we will spend the next 50 minutes feeling like complete garbage and seeing no light at the end of this miserable tunnel. I am tired of my phone vibrating nonstop with each opponent's touchdown, so my friends can channel CU's laughingstock status through me. I have grown accustomed to the snickers and pitiful looks that I get when I wear my CU gear at a sports bar. This is not coming from a tepid fan. This is coming from a husband and wife who consistently donate and paid good money to fly out of state for the 52-7 Cal debacle of 2010, the 48-7 dismantling at Stanford, and the 52-24 toilet flush at Washington (also featuring 5 straight touchdowns on the Huskies' first 5 possessions). Disgusting. Let me be clear - I LIKE Jon Embree and his staff. They are Forever Buffs, and if this is their last year, then I hope it's handled nicely - perhaps a resignation rather than a firing. I want Embree and his staff to ALWAYS feel welcome and loved at Folsom Field. I am sorry that former CU Buff greats are getting dragged through this muddy mess. Shoulder to shoulder, we will sadly prepare ourselves for 0-12. Report Reply |
