Gus Handler's younger brother protects UCLA logo from USC

Yeah, it's not exactly CU football, so if someone wants this post somewhere else, feel free to move it.

But Sam Handler, the younger brother of CU's own Gus Handler, decided to protect the Bruin's logo this weekend. This has made him an instant legend in Los Angeles.

Apparently, USC's band drum major has a tradition or bad habit of stabbing the opposing team's painted logo on the field before games, and Sam wasn't going to let it happen this time. Handler basically walked on field and stood over the logo to prevent the Trojan from stabbing it and was taking off, just prior to the game, by security.

Yep, I like Sam's "not in our house" stance against USC's totally rude "tradition." I'd be pissed if they tried to stab the CU logo in Folsom, too.

If they brought their full band they would stab it. Guaranteed. The band is full of pretentious twats. Their director is the root of it all. Dude is a first class douche bag.

We should throw piss bombs at traveler

People actually give a **** what the ****ing marching band does? Pathetic.

Yeah, if the opposing marching band walks out and stabs your school's logo on your own field, yeah, they care.

Sam Handler put up more of a fight against USC when we did in the 1st quarter of the game. At least he stopped their band.

all i got out of that article is another former buff player has a relative playing for someone else in the pac. add him to the ever growing list of former players with relatives playing somewhere else.

To all the band geeks ITT please share your, "This one time at band camp..." story.

Their pregame "tradition" is pretty rude at away games and it is meant to piss off the home team. So ya people care.

They marched through CU campus blaring their obnoxious ****ing fight song at 8:00 in the morning preceding the '02 game. **** those guys.

UCLA was so pissed about it they sent the walk-on out there alone and promptly didn't back him up in the least. The outrage.

If he would have walked on here, might have been playing. Certainly would not have been having to protect our logo.

Why does he wear his hair like a girl?

DBT, do you know the answer or are you just messing with the board now? S. Handler's long golden locks are so famous, the LA Times has written articles about his haircuts.

Sigh, again. A former coach impersonator (commonly compared to a container of H20) did not want him to walk on. Neuheisel took him, and Mora kept him.

Don't the scum Devils do this as well? I also think FSU does it.

Douche move. Couldn't expect any less from a team from LA.
