Sorry if this was covered elsewhere and I missed it, but is this official?

The word (for several years) was that he really had lost his passion for football and just didn't have the desire to go thru the rigors of 6am workouts and the pounding that is required to play the OL at this level any longer.

And i don't mean to come off negative in any way. The commitment it takes at this level is way beyond what many of us fans imagine. Kid gave us what he had. Good luck!

When you lose the passion for it, it's over. It's not necessarily playing, it's what you have to do to prepare to play. He made the right choice.
 
I think he did and playing hurt, rehabbing all the damn time takes its toll. It'll literally make you ask yourself, what the **** am I doing out here?
